With the 2026 NFL draft now done and passed, the ‘Canes have added nine new draft picks into the Pro-Cane-Pipeline, with multiple undrafted free agents finding homes as well. It was a successful multi-day period for the players, their families, and the University of Miami.

But people love to think about next year, and who am I to blame you? I’m feeding into those conversations right now, as you’re reading this.

You’re sorely underestimating Lucas’ draft stock.
I’m high on Lucas but I think he stays for another year. The only reason I say that is because I think he’s in a really crowded DB room and may put his best NFL tape out as a senior. Not to mention, he’ll be a high-priority retention. I think the NFL looks at the possibility of him playing safety, too.

Love Toure, but he will absolutely not be drafted.

Will sign an UDFA contract and maybe make a practice squad.
Think he gets a shot late if he produces like he’s capable of. Was probably trending toward being a day two pick at Rutgers before his injuries. He’ll test well.

Comparing damari to gilmore might be the worst comp i have ever seen
Thanks, I made it myself.

Other than their size profiles, press-abilities, injury histories, lack of elite top-end speed, and their general physicality, I don’t see much similarity!

Saying he’s a lesser-version means he’s got a similar profile/skillset/ceiling, but it doesn’t mean he’s presently an NFL HOFer.

That’s just not the way you should make comparisons lol, there’s been a bunch of cbs with similar size profiles to gilly that doesn’t make them similar. And they just don’t have similar skill sets at all, and I don’t think they even have similar size programs lmao

I’ll bank your advice, I’m not perfect. I’ll do better next time for you, E1K. Thanks for the feedback, seriously, how was the rest of the article?
