People tend to forget that Richt lost Chubb in early October in 2015 and had to rely on Greyson Lambert who also wasn't very consistent the whole season. Never got a chance to coach the #1 QB recruit in Eason either. This UGA team is healthier and more experienced than his team in 2015. Not to mention the players Kirby has added. No matter what happens tonight, the only way for CMR to get the monkey off his back is to win one himself. No more moral victories. Let's get #6 .

It does? Who says Richt wouldn't have won it this year with Chubb, Michel as seniors and everyone else he recruited as upperclassmen? He was an Aaron Murray brainfart away from winning the title in 2012.

Do you know that Georgia was 126-70-4 in the 18 years before Richt got there? With 2 Top 10 finishes (8th and 10th) and 2 ten win seasons (10-2 both times) and zero SEC titles and zero SEC East titles? They didn't play in the Sugar Bowl or any major bowl at all during that time. Heck, if you take out Herschel Walker, Vince Dooley sucked too. Mark Richt basically made UGA into a national program. They were a middle of the pack SEC team living off of 1980 until Richt got there. No, he never won a national title, but they only have those expectations today because of him.

So, you're basically saying it took Larry Coker to get the best out of Butch Davis' players in 2001?

And yea, let’s not compare Kirby to Coker. UGA went 8-5 last year and they’re in the title this year. That’s a significant improvement.

All those wonderful seniors you love were on that 8-5 team (as juniors).

I like Richt too. He didn’t get the job done at Georgia. Good thing for us he’s a great recruiter in the most fertile ground in the country. If he recruits right and manages the roster accordingly, we’ll “talent” our way to a NC
