...Don Brown. DC at Boston College. That dude has been a phenomenal DC for quite some time now. Has done a great job with less talent than most of the teams he plays against.

This is the type of grizzled vet great teacher that we need to infuse into this program. More teachers and schemers less amateurs and HS coaches.

He is a great coach. He's never coached outside of New England (except for 2 years at Maryland). Just throwing that out there.

I can dig it. I feel he's flying very under the radar for what he's been able to do this year. Hasn't allowed more than 17 points by a team all year. Not bad, especially for a horrific offense that can't stay on the field. That being said the ACC hasn't been very explosive, points wise this year aside from Clemson and North Carolina the past two games, so that might have something to do with it.

I don't think that matters for coordinators. I think you need coordinators that are masters at play calling. If he can do it up there, he can do it down here.

It depends on how much recruiting he's going to do. Some northerners (cough, cough) don't fit in down here.

Some HCs don't even let their coordinators recruit because they want them in the lab all the time. Patterson is one such HC is memory serves me correctly.

Yeah, that's why I said it depends on how much recruiting he would do, and why I said I was just throwing it out there. I'd take him, I think he's a great coach.

Chise, if anyone else made this recommendation - I'd say yes, he needs a look.

But you've been off your game lately, so I say **** this guy. Out of hand.

This dude's defenses are always violent and savage. The fact that they're still stopping teams with the worst offense I've seen in years is amazing.

I love how his defenses play. They are nasty and will bloody your nose all day. I started paying attention to him at UConn, and he was nasty there too.

I don't give a chit if they can't recruit. Just coach their D or O and develop the players.

Ya he's definitely a great thought, I don't know if we can get him out of the North East though lol, but like I've said before about the head coach, Money Talks.

I love you man (no ****), but can you read? That's why I said "it depends." If the HC wants his DC out there on the recruiting trail, then he might have an issue.

What's his style of defense? I could see someone like Herman hiring him if he got the job.

I am emphasizing that it doesn't matter.

Yeah, I think I got that, but it might depending on the head coach. Some head coaches are more hands on in recruiting, some are not. Some OCs are more hands on (Coley), some are not.

Mentioned Brown a week or so ago in a DC thread. Very solid coach and wouldn't be mad at all if he was hired.

I would love Don Brown here as the DC! I think a big money offer needs to be made to him, Jim Leavitt, and Bud Foster. Are there any other names who you guys think would do a good job here?
