We all know Clowney, but a little about Jeffcoat.........
2013:
First-team All-American selection, Co-Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Ted Hendricks Award winner. Was only FBS defensive lineman to lead his team in tackles. 2012: Started first six games before season-ending right pectoral injury vs. Oklahoma. 2011: Second-team All-Big 12 pick after playing in all 13 games with 12 starts. 2010: Played in eight games with two starts. Missed four games due to an ankle injury. Misc.: Son of former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jim Jeffcoat, who won two Super Bowls with Dallas.
Sam.........
Was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year (AP) in '13 when he started all 14 games and registered 48-19-11.5 with two batted passes and two forced fumbles. Would be the first openly *** active player in NFL history -- came out to his teammates in August, then announced his sexuality publicly prior to the NFL Scouting Combine.
Jeffcoat's stats- 40 42 82 19.0 13.0 ( Tackles, Ast Tackles, Total Tackles, TFLs, Sacks)
Sam's stats- 31 17 48 19.0 11.5 (Tackles, Ast Tackles, Total Tackles, TFLs, Sacks)
Did I miss something about Jackson Jeffcoat? Off the field problems maybe? Because I'm missing something. I'm refusing to believe they only drafted Sam because of actual on field performance. I keep hearing SEC Co-Def. Player of the year, but Jackson even seems to one up that too.
