Who would you want to play?

If we win Saturday and are screwed out of the playoffs. Everyone associated with the university should put up double middle fingers to the playoff committee, the NCAA, and the ACC. There is no point in playing another game unless it's in the playoffs.

Just send Mario out recruiting and solidify the class.

One game wasn’t going to change X’s draft stock. Don’t want to risk getting hurt probably
But that’s the thing. You can say that about every prospect right. He went UDFA because of his 40 time and possible injury but maybe if he put some more film on in an “important” game someone could have taken a flier on him late.

Not really. If you’re an athlete with low production in college but great test scores another game could change your trajectory more.

X had elite production with bad testing #s. Not as much to gain + risk of injury

Interesting thread. Get screwed out of playoffs, ***** that playing the games doesn’t matter, have players opt out of bowl games while indicating non-playoff bowl games should not be taken seriously….

Thought I warp zoned back to 2023 in the Noles Tears thread…

While I'm not a fan of the bowls due to opt outs, definitely don't decline. The money is one factor. The much bigger factor is the large number of extra practices that are highly beneficial to the young players and gives them a leg up on next season
I don't think the practices matter that much, if at all. I don't want to see half our team opt out. They need to do away with the bowls. 12 team plsyoff and that is it.

Why would beck daniels thomas or fletcher opt out barring injury
3rd day or non drafted players shouldn't

But bowl games are pointless now.
Seniors out of eligibility or players committed to declaring early for the NFL draft may not want to risk injury.

And one minor bowl game is not likely to improve draft evaluations.

I don’t get why anyone cares at all about bowl games as a fan. They sure as **** don’t as players

Bowl games are the NFL’s version of the Pro Bowl. Nobody wants to get hurt so they don’t play or don’t try.

Unfortunately in today's college football, getting excited for a non-playoff game is like getting excited about an NFL preseason game. At least 10% of each roster will not play. It is a glorified intrasquad scrimmage for the next football season instead of a proper ending to the current season.
You are 100 percent correct just failed to mention those not opting in are the best players. That would be Bain and Beck this year for sure.
