The 2001 Miami Hurricanes coached by Al Golden versus the 2014 Miami Hurricanes coached by Butch Davis?

If that means that those respective coaches also developed those players and they didn't switch places on game day then I'm going with Godzilla

Sounds like the games I played as kid the 99 overall team vs the D2 school.

Butch would likely win.

Here's why: Every single time Golden gets a lead against a decent team, chokes and he goes into prevent. The 2001 team players would get so ****ed off at him, which would lead to Golden benching them for not following his process, and Butch would bury his *** in the second half with adjustment after adjustment after adjustment.

Butch.

Golden would have the 2001 team playing read and react football. They would've found a way to lose at least 2 games under his watch. Butch w/ the 2014 team would stretch the field and we probably wouldn't be seeing Coley having this big of a sophomore slump. The D would be ultra aggressive...not as good as the real 2001 Canes, but definitely a top 10 NCAA unit. 2014 would probably beat the 2001 team based upon their bend-don't-break mentality and would be in their red zone all day. It would be a 35-25 victory in the 2014 favor based upon coaching alone.

Most of the defensive starters on the 2001 team would ride the pine under Al. That defense was the opposite of Al's. No free-lance in Al. Big Daddy would not be allowed to penetrate backfield. Offense would be limited to ball control. If Golden had been coaching for the whole year, he would have even screwed up the oline. Coker cold win, Randy could win, Ed Reed could have coached it and won, but not AL.

It would be closer than you'd think.

The 2001 team benefitted greatly from having a lot of day games.
