I’m going with Perry. Lashlee recruited Perry to Auburn. He did so because he believes Perry fits the offense. I’m guessing it was a factor albeit small, in him taking the job.

FYI, I’m not sure what happened to this same previous post, I’m guess it was me cutting and pasting an article about Perry’s recruitment by Lashlee so my apologies if so. The following is a link to it instead.

Lashlee isn't sitting around waiting to find out if Perry can keep his head on straight. He will definitely go to the transfer portal and bring in at least one grad transfer who is an experienced starter with decent stats. Somebody like Jett Duffy a two year starter from Texas Tech. Dual Threat, 6'1" and had 65% completion %. Smart guy will hedge his bets, bring in a solid grad transfer, then see how fast Van Dyke can develop. Maybe Perry is counted on as a back up. JW to the portal. Soon.

All that will matter is who performs the best when live bullets are flying. That’s all that will matter. Miami has had two highly rated quarterbacks transfer into the school in recent history and neither won the job. Martell and Jake Heaps. Also, I don’t see a freshman winning this job either unless they are of the caliber of a Trevor Lawrence. Last time I checked, nothing of that caliber is coming in. I’m not rooting for Perry per we, but he has been competitive in EVERY competition since his second year between two different coordinators. Now in comes a new coordinator, a guy who recruited him because he FIT HIS OFFENSE. So it’s my educated guess, when they step on that field, he will be there in the end again.

I like Mata chocha I think that kid is underrated as ****. Plus I wish I had his last name it’s awesome.

Bro i wanted jarren to win the job but u cant count on someone who if he gets benched a series might transfer out. Im ridin with Perry

I've stated openly many times my desire for Jarren to hit the portal. He's mentally soft and by many accounts doesn't put forth the effort to master his craft.

That said, he's the best pure passer on the roster. If Lashlee or the incoming QB coach is some kind of QB whisperer that Penos was supposed to be, and is able to get the kid put it together upstairs, he's our best bet IF he's willing to put in the work to reach his full potential.

Prove me wrong, Suitcase.

TVD or portal

I doubt Lashlee puts up with Curly, Larry, and Moe we already have in the QB room.

They might get a clean slate, but their current level of leadership/maturity is unacceptable.

That's actually the best interview I have personally seen Perry do. Good job!

You're just silly with your "he's definitely going to the portal" comment. He has 5 QBs. You may not like them, but why would you think he'd jump to the portal without even evaluating the current QB roster? Why do people like you always think the answer is in the Portal? We have capable QBs with the right coaching and blocking. Oh, N'kosi did throw for 400+ against VT. I think he has something to offer. I think Jarren is capable as well. However, he's seems to have something going on between the ears. IDK if he sticks with the program.

Nice article, but I don't understand why it's titled as "3-Star QB?" He was the 7th rated dual threat by 247, 8th by Rivals, and 3rd by ESPN. All had him as a 4-star recruit.

I like him as well but I think he's a year or two away from really being in the competition for the starting job. You can't discount experience. I can't see any of the young guys overcoming Perry or Williams. I'd give Perry the edge because I think this type of offense fits him well and he showed better maturity in 2019. Jarren has some issues and I don't trust that he's fully committed to the program.
