Miami Hurricanes defensive back Keionte Scott is projected to go on Day Two of the NFL Draft, and he could be a steal.

This past season, Scott was one of the Hurricanes leading tacklers. Earlier in the college football season, many scouts and mock drafts had him going in the late first round, which shows he could be a steal.

The Miami defensive back has met with a trio of NFL teams, including the Texans, Commanders, and Bears. Each NFL team gets to host up to 30 prospects for visits ahead of the draft.



At the combine, Scott was listed at 5-foot-11, 193 pounds, and ran an unofficial 4.25 40-yard dash. He also showed his explosiveness with a 10’3” broad jump and a 44” vertical.

Scott wrapped up his career at Miami after transferring from Auburn. In his senior year, he was dealing with a minor injury, but he was still one of Miami’s top defenders. In 2025, he tallied 64 tackles, 2 interceptions, 5 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, and 5 sacks while playing in the secondary. However, Scott suffered a lower-body injury during Miami’s game against Syracuse on November 8.



Whoever drafts this Miami defensive back could be getting a steal, especially since he was once seen as a first-round pick. Time will tell.

I would love Scott as a Nickel for the Phins. If they pick him at 30, I will be deeply disappointed. Good for Scott, one of my favorite players in a long while, but terrible value for the Phins. He's projected as a 3rd-ish rounder.

this thread was about getting a steal... I'd say getting him in the 4th or lower would be a "steal".... anywhere higher is where he was projected or even higher than you probably needed to... not a knock on him at all.. just breaking down the "steal" factor of a pick

 

Daniel Jeremiah has him 44th in his top 50.

I think this is the range. Someone is going to grab him in the 2nd. Teams that have multiple picks in the 2nd are most likely.
I believe my Bears like him.

I wish, but it's not likely. We certainly aren't taking him with our 1st round pick (7). We don't have a pick in the 2nd round. Our 3rd round pick is at 71. Will he last until the 3rd round? We don't have a 4th round pick. Doubt he's still there in the 5th round. Sure, we can always move up or make a trade with another team which I'm sure will happen at some point in the draft. I don't know, we need so much help everywhere.

Oh you are totally right and I am expecting us to draft someone else. But we can dream.

 

Only played here 1 year, but will forever be legendary in the season he had. He was HUGE in the playoffs and we might not get to the natty without him on the field.

his pick 6 against OSU will be a replayed for the rest of time when it comes to Hurricane football. It was truly one of the biggest/impact plays in the programs history!!
