Who will be Manny's OC at Temple?

Not sure what kind of connections Manny has made in the coaching ranks but I doubt you will see any big name guys joining him. His latest hire was a former high school coach from the Philadelphia area... probably to make some local inroads for recruiting. He also has not been able to do much interviewing if he is preparing for Miami's bowl game.

That is just a very curious decision by both Temple and UM to let him stay to coach the bowl game. He should be working to build his program at Temple and we should be breaking in our co-DCs.

I think it will be interesting to see who he picks. Could give us a glimpse of the type of offense he would run here if he ever became our head coach. Looks like our head coach position will be open sometime in the next 12-24 months at the rate things are going.

If I had to guess, it would be someone from Dan Mullen's offensive coaching tree.

Diaz also worked for Skip Holtz when Tony Petersen was the OC.
Petersen did good work at LaTech, rehabbing Jeff Driskel's career and before
that was Rakheem Cato's coach at Marshall.
Petersen was recently on the ECU staff that got fired a few weeks ago, so he's available.

kendal briles is one of the top OCs right now ..... he just got a raise and a 3 year extension and was promoted to
associate head coach at Houston.

would someone please explain this bull**** about why he would even think about going to Temple to be the OC for an
unproven rookie head coach ? SMH

Has there been any news as to what candidates manny's looking at? There's a good chance richt is gone in 2 years, it'd be nice if manny hit a homerun hire at oc and we can make him the head man here with that oc in a couple of years.

I'll guarantee that it won't be Mork, or Baby Mork.

just curious .. Diaz has never coached one game as a HC . so with nothing to base it on, why would you want him to be HC at
Miami ? would you let a doctor who had NO experience actually doing an operation perform brain surgery on you or someone
in your family ? might sound like a ridiculous analogy, but it makes the point.

everyone jumping up and down like monkeys wanting Diaz to be the HC at Miami might want to see how he does first. being a HC is a whole different deal than just being a coordinator.

Man that Houston offense looked awesome against that tough Army defense today.

no excuses, Army is a tough team. too bad Houston had to play without some of their best players ... especially their QB
that game today takes nothing away from Briles or the season that the Houston offense had... ranked #4

Believe Wisky QB out also, maybe we do do them what Army did to Houston. LOL

Yeah, I don't get this desire for Diaz to be the next UM HC and before the Temple hire, as Head Coach in Waiting.
It seems like our fans feed off each other in this herd mentality.

I don’t want him to be our next coach but how he hires his coordinators would be an indicator of his offensive philosophy.

The dr analogy doesn’t fit either by the way. They go through rotations with different doctors while working their way up to operating on there own. Very similar to a football coach learning and gaining experience as they work towards being a head coach. Internships and student teaching would be other examples.
