Ive been the guy saying let them play out , let the best man win then folks get mad at me. I had arguments this week with people crowning Garcia and saying he’d play better today, he’s the better option. But I’m the crazy one lol. But whatever.

Agree to disagree brother. I like Garcia a lot more from a skill set standpoint. At this point I actually prefer for Manny to start TVD.

If you can't push the ball down the field, REAL opponents will squat on everything short and completely shut down your offense. If he does throw three picks consistently then he isn't the answer either.

What I do know, is that you can't build an high caliber offense without having the ability to push the ball on an intermediate level.
 
Garcia has more mobility. Based on that alone with the style we play he probably has a slight edge for me. Didn’t see a ton from TVD we scripted short plays that went for 6 with him hard to know how live that arm is gonna be but he was accurate and had that good ball to 8. Good problem to have right now I say

He proved he can pushed the ball one was dropped the other was caught almost for a TD. Once the start squatting then you push the ball.

Tvd is faster than Garcia and a better athlete , but once again that doesn’t matter. He also has a stronger arm. Does Garcia have more moxy and the it factor ? Yes. This battle will go for awhile. They’re both canes , I just want one to be the guy. Which ever one doesn’t matter.
 
After watching the game in its entirety, both looked good and if you’re gonna be unbiased and honest there wasn’t much drop off from either.

I was furious when 8 dropped that pass from TVD. Perfect throw… hit him in stride and of course 8 and his Flipper the dolphin hands can’t come up with it.

If we are going to be nit-picky, both made good decisions. I remember Garcia had one wobbly pass and another behind the WR on a screen.

I’m no expert, but I didn’t see much drop off from either. Both looked like they could be starters at another school and played well given this game was their first real chunk playing time.

We haven’t had good depth at the position in a long time and it's a good problem for us to have.

With that being said, I’d stick with TVD until he proves otherwise. Interesting to see what happens next week against better competition!

That was the ONLY ONE.

For those keeping score at home, ONE out of ELEVEN attempts. You can't dink and dunk your way to victory against the better opponents on the schedule. DC's are going to squat on everything if they think you're a Jared Goff clone.

Agree with you. Both played well. I think TVD’s time in the system showed early. If you were on the fence before I don’t think the performances would take you off the fence. Let the hot hand ride.

Nope, thats why I say TVD earned starting again , but do the same thing again. Rotate and find the hot hand . I do know if Garcia had been percent the conversation would be different lol.

Gotta play both evenly next week and see how it goes. Both looked really good against very weak competition (still a big deal imo-both showed great accuracy). One might really stick out next week against a real opponent who can hit back. I'm cautiously optimistic about BOTH. When's the last time we had two promising QBs, let alone one?
 
TVD is more of a structured QB, he fits this system. However, Garcia is the wildcard. His ability to make plays is something that you just can't teach. I'd start TVD, but have him on a relatively tight leash.
