Greg Mark to be a defensive lineman. JJ said he always left Greg off the starting roster until game day since he was so small but plugged him in late. Who decided Bernie Kosar with his awkward delivery could be a winning QB? Yet many here without anything but limited observation think their guy is the man. No matter who the coaches pick there will be many saying how wrong it is yet no one here has the visibility to ascertain who will be the next Dorsey. Who thought Rohan Marley could be a great LB? Who thought Leonard Conley could play fullback? Who saw no star Ray Lewis as a special talent? Based on physical attributes some of our best players should've never been starters. I love the coach who can see beyond the physical and select the winners that have something special. I just pray that one of our three has that something special but even though I have favorites, I do not have the knowledge to make a judgement nor does any one at CIS. I hope we wholeheartedly support whomever is selected (as long as it is Peyton Matocha).

At least I know my post wasn’t the worst of the day🤣

MANY players on the 80s/90s Nat'l Championship teams were not highly recruited. And, as you say, turned out to be terrific producers. Lately, it's often been the opposite -- highly sought after guys who end up disappointing on the field, not living up to their HS hype.

Well you also have to point the obvious fact that this isn’t the 80s and 90s..majority of great athletes aren’t flying under any radar nationality and ESPECIALLY not in the state of Florida..the whole “stars don’t matter” argument is thrown out there too much..they do matter. But, what matters more is are you getting the right athletes to fit what you want to do. Manny has proven to be able to that on D if he can duplicate that on offense then, as other ignorant prosters have said, we *******

Do you just sit around eating spoonfuls of paste and think of the worst threads you can make? Listen man, I can’t stress this enough. NO ONE cares. Take a few plays off.

What I don't get ... well, let me give you two examples. Kyle Wright was the Consensus #1 QB in the nation! Think about that -- no one was considered to be better! He comes to UM and stinks up the place. Couldn't hit the proverbial broad side of a barn.

Marcus Fortson comes to UM as the #1 DT in the entire nation and proceeds to have a very forgettable career. No impact whatsoever.

Tell me again what these star ratings really mean?? These two guys are hardly the only examples of what I'm talking about. Just happen to be the most prominent.

Well how about you go look up the rankings of top classes for the past decades..and then look at those teams that’ are consistently top 5-10 and the results it produces on the field..you can’t just name 10 individuals who didn’t live up for whatever reason then sum it up to say stacking highly rated classes doesn’t mean anything..

You don’t just offer guys with most stars..it’s about getting the right guys..but that usually means the 4-5 star kids if you want to build elite depth with “dudes” occasionally you can find a high 3star kid who fits the bill athletically. Maybe they flew under the radar. But nowadays it’s less likely

People can’t possibly still believe this right? How many times does it have to be proven to you potatoes that highly rated classes and national champions and national contenders go hand in hand.

If that were true, ND would have 15 NCs.
