Who needs to be cut for next year?

My thoughts:

Non-renewals (guys who will have a degree but have eligibility remaining):

1. Hunter Knighton (OL)

Encouraged to transfer:

1. Ryan Fines
2. Jahair Jones
3. Brendan Loftus
4. Hayden Mahoney
5. Terry McCray
6. Terrance Henley
7. Trayone Gray
8. Darrell Langham

Does anyone see any of these guys ever contributing?

I originally had Gus Edwards and Tyler Gauthier on my list, but clearly, the staff is trying to keep Gus in the fold and Gauthier has shown some potential the last two weeks.

We better figure out if we're even going to sign any players at WR, CB, and OL before we worry about who needs to go

Not a chance they encourage Trayone Gray to transfer. The staff hasn't even been able to fully evaluate him Ryan Fines has actually seen a little time this year which suggests he likely won't be encouraged to transfer.

They're already playing shorthanded in terms of scholarship players available. Why would they "cut" anybody? It's not like they need to make extra room on the roster.

Thank Folden for leaving some serious talent in waiting. "Golden specials" every last one. Most of those guys belong in group of five schools if even that. Since they're already here though it's hard to ask that many players do leave being that we have no depth. Richt needs two or three deeply talented recruiting classes to get us back to where we need to be.

I'm firmly against "cutting" any college kid that's part of a team and getting an education.

If you promised the scholarship, own up to it, even if there may have been a mistake with the evaluation. These are people, not animals or slaves

If they want to transfer then it's own them, but nudging a kid out of the door for non-performance is bad form, especially if the kid is trying hard and doing everything that's being asked of him on and off the field.

Just my .02$

Hunter Knighton literally almost died for this team. Take his name off the list he's earned his right to finish his career here how he chooses.

Potential Transfers due potentially being buried on the depth chart.
Rosier
Knowles
Perry
Ced Wright (discipline issues)

Scout team guys, who Richt seems to acknowledge and appreciate.

Richt essentially cut a lot of guys prior to this season. That's usually what a coach does before year 1 not year 2 though so I assume he won't cut anybody this offseason.

I think it's easier to do when the coach first arrives. They can tell a kid hey, you don't really fit into the new system but it's not your fault. Asking a kid to leave after year 1 is a kick in the ding-dings. Every team asks kids to leave so I guess we have to be willing to do it to but it's pretty shady.

Why would perry transfer? He has played a lot this season. Knowles did earlier in the year

Attrition takes care of itself. No need to "cut" anyone. It's not like we have extra number of scholarship players.

I'm just saying potentially. I really don't expect either one of them to be in the two deep next year so if they want playing time i think they'll look around. If they're content and the coaching staff wants them for depth they'll stay.
