Who is the most improved player on D and why is it Wesley Bissainthe?

It's a lesson not to expect guys straight out of HS to be AAs. Some guys just need time. He was flashing but unreliable last year. Now everything is clicking and he's the baller we all thought he would be.

It crazy reading posts from doubters on Samson, Kinsler, Ray Ray, Robby, etc. They're still early in their second year. If they're not firing at some point in their third year, time to grow concerned. Before then, just trust this staff knows talent when it sees it. It also bothers me when we talk about starting true freshmen like Scott over third-years like Clark, Moten and Horton. If he EARNS it and beats them out for playing time, absolutely. But he may not be quite ready. That doesn't mean he still can't be an AA in the future.
They already gave up on Martinez and Sam Brown after they missed spring and got here in june.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3: :jordan:

WB31 has been fun to watch play. Brings the energy and has been an absolute menace. He is playing at an all-conference level albeit against some pretty bad teams. I think he added a lot of muscle between last season and this season. Even if he weighs roughly the same - he appears to have really bulked up. I was never ready to quit on this kid - and there is a reason coach was giving him significant playing time last season. Like others have said - you can’t expect kids to hit in year 1 - if they do it’s rare. Usually year 3/3.5 is the norm.

Wes is vastly improved from last season. Young man is making the right reads, flowing to the ball, playing through the whistle. So impressive. He's leading the charge to bring back LB U. We have some stud LBs.

What player hasn't take a step is a better question. I'm a little disappointed in Richard, and a little surprised that Markeith is still not ready to be a starter. But overall it feels like we're hitting on all cylinders.
I think Markeith will continue getting better as the 1st man off the bench. He made a big time play on that drive after the Pick against Florida. I would definitely like to see some that ball hawk ability we saw on tape as a recruit.

I was also a bit disappointed in Richard over the first 2 games but he played very well vs Ball St.

Having been a Markeith Williams fan since his recruitment I'm certainly not giving up on him. The kid has talent as attested by his fall camp performance of leading the team with INTs. The thing is that Meesh Powell and Jaden Harris are playing so well that the coaches don't want to mess with the existing chemistry. I think we will see Markeith get an INT here and there as we get into our conference schedule.

Next year Markeith will have every opportunity to win the Free Safety spot with Meesh Powell exhausting his eligibility but he will have to fight off Dylan Day, Zaquan Patterson, Hylton Stubbs and almost certainly a portal addition. That comp will be extremely difficult so my advice to Markeith is to get on that Isaiah Horton offseason body transformation plan and just bring it.

I meant to say already did lol. My bad

I don't understand how anyone can pick someone other than Joe. Joe has made tremendous leaps. He's tackling better, he knows the defensive playbook, he doesn't look lost. Tremendous start to the season.

Every game, he has set the tone from the opponents first snap/drive. If he continues to do that, I find it hard for opponents to keep their confidence knowing that he's 1 of 11 that are ready to hit them. And hit them violently.

Most impressively he has kept Alderman tucked away until 4th qtr.
Bobby > Wes do not @ me.

Definitely Moten for me. That guy along with Horton next year and Scott is going to make that DT spot a huge strength. He looks like hes ready for a bigger role in the rotation.

Coach Nicholson no joke! He coaches hard and demands a lot. That’s what the best players want. They want someone who says, “great play! Do it again&again&again…” our whole staff is like this now. Our staff is engaged the full 60Mins. They coach the backups as hard as the starters. Glacial in the size of this cultural shift, not bad 3yrs in. My $0.02.

Go Canes!
