Who Is Miami's Jim Harbaugh?

Why is everyone on Butch's jock?

Not that he wouldn't be able to bring us back to Top 5 prominence quickly, he might be able to, but why is Butch the only OBVIOUS choice?

There are others, if you are paying attention.....

Butch can save us. I don't know of anyone else who wants the job that is capable of saving this program.

Hire Butch.

Program is virtually dead, time to accept it

You could say the same about Michigan

Not at all. I know for sure our dead program wouldn't offer 8mill for a head coach

Michigan hasn't won a conference championship since 2004, Miami since 2003
Michigan has one bowl win since 2007, Miami one since 2006
Michigan has half a national championship since 1997, Miami has one
Michigan has had two coaches since 2007, Miami has two as well
Michigan has gone 55-46 since 2007, Miami has gone 56-44

We are basically running an identical path as Michigan right now, except of course Miami doesn't have a 265,000 seat stadium to fill with one of the largest alumni networks on the planet.

Michigan is willing to use their money to fire coaches, allows their staffs to recruit nationally and doesn't care about price of flying, hire coaches and staffs, upgrade facilities, put money into training tables & S&C personnel, and much more. We aren't. There program has hope. Ours doesn't.

Perhaps, but it'll be a lot easier for Miami to regain national relevance considering the task it takes to get elite talent to go to the midwest.

Clearly - Butch Davis.

I fail to understand the depth of ignorance of those few who don't already know this.

Dumbassness is NOT a virtue, as some here seem to believe.

Butch Davis is neither a former player and didn't start his coaching career at Miami.

How exactly is he Miami's Jim Harbaugh?

Butch made the mistake of leaving once, he wouldn't again. He may not be an alum, but his connections go back 30 years. He's capable, he's probably willing. All that needs be done is to ask. It would be nice to have one of those coaches that lasts 20 years and keeps the program on top.
