Just bought my tickets.
First off wanted to say congrats on going bowling.
Secondly I'm well aware that many of you are not fired up about Shreveport. I've lived here 30 years and at times I'm screaming the same thing. But when I take a step back and look it really isn't that bad if you know where and what to do. I will try and list some things for the average fan to do while in town. if the shoe fits then wear it. If not just trying to help. Feel free to personal message me or just reply and I will help in any way to make Shreveport a somewhat enjoyable trip. FYI I think Shreveport is actually excited about the matchup this year. I would expect the biggest casual fan turn out in INDY bowl history..

4) Casinos.. Ok here we go. This is why ppl come to Shreveport/Bossier(in order from best to worse)
A. Horseshoe- by far nicest.. Good restraunts.. Biggest game floor.. CMT crossroads bar free to enter always a live local band. Hit or miss
B. El Dorado- great place. Celebrity lounge is where you are going to find your best time in the area. This is where historically most fans end up.
C. Samstown- next door. Always live entertainment out front. When you walk on the actual boat there is always free beer to the right. Young people take advantage. If it's free gimme 3
D. Margaritaville- really nice just not as big. Obviously if gambling I recommend margaritas.. Drinks are free FYI if you are gambling at all of these.
E. Diamond Jacks- save your time
F. Boomtown- Save your time.
Bars/ clubs - All walking distance
1) Celebrity lounge- El dorado Casino
2) Phoenix underground- downtown(club)
3) Stray Cats- downtown bar
4) Sand bar- downtown, beer pong, pool, video games
5) Larry Flynts Hustler Club- downtown.. Above average.
There's no guarantee on any night for any bar. If it sucks then move on. There's several others downtown.. If you get to blind tiger or any other place and it's awesome may wanna ride it out. Shreveport bars in downtown stay open until 6am. With the exception of a few so have at it. If you make your way towards youree drive there are a ton of shopping malls and restraunts. Tried to give y'all non chain but you find just about anything over there. Just google it. As for the game you will probably see a ton of purple and gold. There will be a few idiots that think everyone should chant lsu.. Ignore them. For the most part you will find that everyone is friendly.. Stadium not in nicest part of town. But you will be perfectly fine. If any other questions just reply. Hope y'all decide to come. I think it will be a great game. Good luck.

Post of the year canidate. BOOM
Just bought my tickets.
Anyone who goes has no right to complain about the on field product. You are an enabler. Same goes for those who spend ANY MONEY on UM athletics.
As an official representative of this site, I'd like to extend our courtesy and thanks to the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce for the post above. :q3XKXeX:
No but seriously, I highly encourage everybody to buy their tickets directly from the South Carolina athletic department, or the secondary market such as StubHub or Ticket Geek. Do not buy any tickets directly from UM, or from any sources that obtain them from UM. Good luck, and we're all counting on you.
