I am a UGA fan and was checking out the board and this post compelled me to register and give my opinion as a Dawg fan; so may be long. My guess is he coaches at the U another 8-10 years unless things are going very badly. Just to give you the insight at UGA. We loved the guy at first; and most still love him. What really became apparent after Jeff Van Gorder left is that Richt had some loyalty issues; like he was loyal to a fault. Martinez was the next DC and he stunk. He stunk really bad and he was good friends with Richt. He ended up staying 2 more seasons than people wanted and McGarity forced him begrudgingly to fire him. 2nd is Richt is stubborn. Richt finally turned over Bobo to be the OC after again the rumors that McGarity forced him. Again being stubborn, Richt's never really strayed from a pro style offense to any degree. We had vast stretches where the offense could not score and again he would not change. 3rd, there were just too many WTF moments. Games where we flat out did not show up. The year Richt almost won the NC, we got blown out by SC; and I mean BEAT. The last year Richt put in Batou at QB vs Florida and the big boosters and AD decided they couldn't take it any more. As widely known Richt has a huge involvement in the church and many folks at UGA though he would go into the ministry. The rumor floating around last year is that Richt was grooming Pruitt to take over as HC as Richt was burnt out. Anyhow, hope Richt can make it happen at the U and win some bigtime football games.

After only winning 20 games in the last two years, you must have been thrilled with Kirby Smart's performance.

Georgia will be like Tennessee. Tennessee said Phil Fulmer wasn't good enough. Eight years later they wish they could have a Phil Fulmer season once again.

IMO richt coaches here 5-7 years. Not necessarily because of performance but because he'll retire from coaching. He will leave the U in good hands such as the IPF being built and up and runnng by then..I'm sure there will someone on the staff capable of taking over by that time..unlikely Diaz because I think he's gone for a HC gig in 1-3 years..too far out to say now

If your fans had that much beef with Rick, then your really gonna hate that imbecile Kirby Dumb.

And I doubt Rick was grooming Pruitt because they apparently didn't get along and nearly came to blows.

We definitely didn't get the stubborn Rick. He tinkered with the offense a lot this year.

Based on this season, I'm not seeing it. If Richt can win the ACC next season and get into the playoffs that might change.

Who else sees Richt in Miami 10-20 years? Please come forward and share your thoughts.

Thanks CoRch Richt.

You might as well pick another team to follow. He's going to be our coach for a long time.

Been a fan for 30+ years and Richt won't be here a long time if he keeps underachieving.

LOL you are a dumbass . He is here for at least 10 years and probably closer to 20. WE are in a better place today then we have been since 2004.

He's not a coRch, but you can sure poRst :bobross:

Pruitt was actually hired by the AD, not Richt himself. Pruitt and Richt got along horribly. Pruitt also got along badly with JimBob at FSU, which is why he fled to UGA after winning the NC in his lone year as FSU DC. He is the hardest DC in college football to get along with. Richt was never grooming him to be successor.

It's the Franchise. He fools around with everybody's name.

Please tell us about your grand history of winning before MR.

It's idiotic to be extremely critical of Richt. I'm disappointed because we had a good opportunity to win double digits and the coastal. At the same time, Richt and staff had to learn about the team and about the players. I seen improvement after the middle slump. And they made great improvement on defense and that should only get better. Priority number one is to fix the OL. If Donaldson can make an immediate impact as well as the LSU transfer we could be in for a wonderful season next year. We don't know if we will be here 20 years from now, so why even worry about it now

8 wins usually is richts floor. I think 7 was the worst amount of wins he had at Georgia. he avg 10 wins a year and lets not act like he did it in just the weak divisions. yes he had problems beating florida but most of his time the gators had steve spurrier or urban meyer at coach.

I think richt will be here a long time because its been proven that guys who win elsewhere at power 5 schools can win even bigger at Miami. jj never won 10 games a year at Oklahoma state but he won big at Miami, Erickson hasn't won anything since leaving for nfl and he won at Miami, truth is the talent in Miami's back yard is way better then in almost any other place even cali and texas.

richt can recruit next year isn't the make or break year either. its the year after. in year 3 this team should have the depth and talent to win the acc and compete for a playoff spot but this was never gonna be the year and next year the team could win 10 games but it will depend on a lot of kids in secondary.

He's doing what he can to win. His play calling improved. He plunked down more for the IPF than the OP did. He hired Manny Diaz and Coach Kul. Oh, he also played a few snaps filling in for Jim Kelly. Cut the guy some slack. Maybe he wins us our first bowl game since Coker. If you want immediate National Titles, go jump on the Bama wagon. Plenty of impatient fans there.

Richt actually went 6-7 in 2010. Hopefully he never does that here.

Don't get me wrong, I love Richt. So much so I root for Miami now. I met him once and there is no better person you will ever meet. I am just telling you guys what some UGA big money boosters were saying. There are a lot of fans who miss him and still want him there. You can't expect to get embarassed consistently by your arch rivals and not get heat. Personally I don't get the Kirby-Tennesse analogy. Kirby is one of the best recruiters in the country and he's committed to staying. UT hired Kiffin who was a known flake. Then they hired Dooley who really was not qualified to take over a program like UT. Kirby was right hand man to Saban. Not saying he is Saban but was pretty high up in a successful program.
