I just said I didn’t want Mario and I would rather have one of those. Again we have a guy that’s not making much money and we didn’t have to buy out Richt or pay much of a buyout to get Diaz from Temple. The next hire is gonna be here far longer than a year even with a similar season to this. If a move was made now (it’s not) the only name that would come here would be Mario Cristobal because he wants the job (or used to). Or a Lane Kiffin or someone that it would just be a huge promotion.

Homerun hire. The basic criteria for this hire should be. #1 Already built a program at a lower level or an assistant at a dominant program. #2 Maxed out the potential of the program that the coach has built or dominant performance as a coordinator. #3 Worked with or for elite coaches.

Why even think about who "could" be coach. Stuck with this staff for 2 or 3 more years. Even if Diaz quit this year, like alot of his players seem to, schiano would be who was hired

I heard a scout on the radio say that Shaq is a 5.0 guy that tries to play like a 4.5 guy. A player with his lack of speed should play smarter and more disciplined.

We hired a coach who sees building the program as a bigger challenge than winning games. Next guy has to be able to build the program in his sleep and main focus on winning games. Think building culture is overrated. Recruit well teach well win games and the culture builds itself.

Good post. I agree with everyone on your list except Chryst. I don’t think he meets any of the criteria that you laid out.

The one guy who wants the job AND would take it seriously, many here swear up and down would fail and would sell a limb to keep from coming here. Mind you we ai t been right since him and his guys left.
