James Jackson. One **** of a RB and one **** of a Cane but was surrounded by All Americans and future NFL Pro Bowlers and Hall of Famers.
What the **** are you talking about? Here’s 5 guys that come to mind for me in chronological order. Most of these guys were studs here but are overshadowed by all-time greats.
WR Horace Copeland
QB Scott Covington
OL Sherko Haji-Rasouli
S Maurice Sikes
CB Brandon Harris
From scrub to cashing NFL checks.Sheldrick Redwine. Developed into an All ACC level safety after moving from CB. Doesn't get early enough love.
You may have had an appreciation for them. And yes, they were highly regarded by some fans and talked about by others as well, but IMHO not to the extent warranted. You could make a strong argument both players were some of the best, if not the best, to ever play their respective positions at Miami, yet they're not held in that same esteem by most. Downtown Eddie Brown was Micheal Irvin before Micheal Irvin. And Rusty Medearis was the 2nd best DT to play at Miami prior to his career ending knee injury. Both guys have IMHO have been sold short of how great they were wearing that orange & green U on their helmet. They were in NO WAY underrated here at all.
Everybody acknowledges how great Rusty was as a DE (not DT) prior to his injury. Eddie Brown is always referred as one of the best WRs at Miami and a key player on the Canes 1st NC team. You may have had an appreciation for them. Yes they ARE held in the same esteem as others....You've got to be kidding. Brown is widely regarded as a Top 4-5 WR in UM History. Medearis is also widely considered to be Top 3-4 DE in UM History. You may have had an appreciation for them. Top 3 Center in UM History...and could be in an argument for #1 or #2...KC Jones was as underrated Center during the probation era.

Winner winner, I scrolled this entire thread hoping someone listed him. Gets overlooked for obvious reasons, but dude was **** goodJames Lewis
Tremain Mack. Guy deserves a statue. One of my favorite players of all timeRecently had a fun similar thread. Who’s someone you think doesn’t get enough credit for how good they was here?
Are they appreciated by you and some of the other older diehards? Yeah maybe, but whether you realize it or not a lot of the younger folks in this fanbase don't know who either guy is.Yes they ARE held in the same esteem as others....You've got to be kidding.
