Who’s the coach in this story? Devin Hester recruiting

I remember being 13 and having to go to a bar mitzvah when Miami played WV back in 96. Couldn’t move the ball all game, and the party started during the second half. I couldn’t believe it when my parents told me Tremain Mack’s blocked punt was returned for a TD to win it in the last minute.

Bubba was a Great Safety for us....SeanTay (who played STs for 3yrs at UM) deserves mentioning...
I remember ST returning the next KOR against UF, made a great escape from a crowd of players and almost scored. Down inside the 10, I think. Watch the video and there’s a player wanting a lateral from ST right at the end.

Doesn't matter what the link says, the UiF game was the second game of the 2003 season.

It might seem hard to believe, but the LaTech game was in Shreveport.

Thus, the Gaytor game was the first HOME game of 2003.
Didn’t Herbstreit mock KW2 for doing the Heisman pose after a score in that game in Shreveport?

Chefcanes GF worked at Hecht I believe....
Okay, well, I remember ChefCane and RandomWalk from the other board. When I joined here, IIRC, there were posts calling one or both of them fake insiders. Maybe I am misremembering. Apologies if so.

Not sure....there were Rumors that both were fakes....

Yes, I think so. KW2 was on a cover or SI or Sporting News, or some sports rag, as the best player in college football but he wouldn’t win the Heisman because was a TE. His TD against LaTech was his only one that season.

He is such a waste of talent. Played well in the NFL when healthy, but a serious head case. CTE damage as well. And later, sadly, darker problems.

FSU was as slimey as could be. I remember them sending the DE/LB and McFadden to recruit kids to FSU on a big weekend for us. That was their last hoorah with Butch. Then it flipped.

Go Canes!

The sad part is, it shows just how dirty the game is, this is another way they get flips at the last minute, with threats. This is why alot of these coaches go into schools and start looking for things they can pounce on to try and get an upper hand on these young balla's!
Yeah. Coaches bringing up the Marlin Barnes tragedy and recruiting off of it. Lowest of the low. I don’t remember who that was.

Some of Bowden’s staff had reputation of being really low-life recruiters. A name I heard in late ‘80’s was Chuck Amato.

EDIT: Posted the above before I read a lot of subsequent posts. Everybody says Anato was involved in all of this.

We had the goods on Sterling Palmer since we had his transcripts when we recruited him. My friend who saw the transcripts in our recruiting office told me “No way he’s a qualifier.” Palmer signed with FSU and was eligible his first year. He should have been held out as a Prop 48.

We never turned in Palmer or FSU. I just heard this snippet. Don’t have any idea how FSU got him eligible.

Palmer was one of the most coveted recruits of his senior year.
