Has as many penalties as big plays. Impressive stat.
This. And they let him run more routes than usual last game. I keyed in on his route running.... it was lazy at best. Starting to make sense why he hasn't played more. With that said, a few gadger/handoffs makes sense. I'm not as upset on his misuse as I use to be. Gotta be a tough position as coaches.

He's pretty much limited to being a return man, a gadget player on offense (wild cat, end arounds, reverses, etc), and running the slot fade.

He's not capable of playing Restrepo's position. He doesn't understand the offense to that degree and isn't very fluid running routes. A lot goes into being a good slot receiver that he doesn't do.

Personally, I would encourage him to transfer after all of the stupid penalties and the crying on social media. Great kick returner. That's about it.

Smith is explosive, but Restrepo is a far better slot WR. I mean its not close really.

I would go more 4 Wide sets to get him on the field because of his explosiveness though.

Smith is currently the #2 KO return man in the country.

Thank you need the social media types out of the locker room he’s constantly running ****** routes

Guys like Chris Washington, Chantz Williams, and Flagg walked on senior day and still have eligibility. K Smith is out of eligibility.

I'd imagine the list starts there.

-Chaney and/or Parrish - they've been surpassed by Fletcher and talent coming in behind them. NFL is also an option, obviously looking at practice squad type guys
-Skinner, Jacurri, Moss, and Chase Smith - obvious candidates
-Harvey, Ladson, Redding - 5th year guys that didn't walk on senior day. Would take Harvey back - don't care about the other 2
-Robby/Bobby Washington, Citizen, Chris Johnson, Brashard, Riley Williams, Malik Bryant - those would be my surprise (but not so surprised) transfer candidates

Side note slightly off-topic: I got pretty excited about the guys that didn't walk on senior day.
-Jared Harrison-Hunte - Huge if he's coming back next year. Turning into a good player and much needed DT depth.
-Thomas Gore - Not a huge difference maker but can make plays and a veteran presence. Much needed depth at DT.
-Mesidor - obviously he wasn't going anywhere after the injury riddled season. Our DEs will be scary good next year. Game changing. Bain a year older and basically an older version of Bain on the other side. Kelly and Wayne in the 2 deep.
-Zion Nelson - No expectations but maybe there's something there. He was a top 3 round draft pick player at LT 2 years ago.
-Jalen Rivers - Graduated and in a masters program. Same class as Chantz. Could have walked but didn't. Could still declare for the draft but if he returns.. looking at a rock solid OL again in 2024. Maybe even improved. He could switch to play Center or LG again.
-Anthony Campbell - obviously red-shirting at this point - huge dude that has a high ceiling. Depth at DT.

Feel a lot better about DT depth regardless of LT's decision to stay or go to the league. The 3 listed above, plus Burroughs, Horton, and Moten. It's formidable.
