Lol one post I read from a Wisconsin board was about how they want Al for his "Florida Connections". I literally laughed so hard i cried.

If you ask me, there's not too many guys that could have dealt with looming NCAA clouds and their obnoxious fanbase any better than Goldens.

He needs a new start with a fanbase that supports him from the get-go (Similar to RichRod). You'll get yourself a steal.

Golden also emerged unscathed from the Penn State child petting fiasco. You can rest assured the showers and summer camps will be safe in Madison with Golden at the helm.

Golden got dealt a bad hand at Miami. Walked right into an NCAA mess. All he's done is guide our program through stormy waters and loaded the roster with talent. Definitely trending up.

I think there is a shot. He isn't a good fit at Miami and is a Big10 guy at heart. I think he would be great at Wisconsin and would produce good defenses.

One has head coaching experience at an elite school, and the other has never been a head coach. You can't learn on the job at a major program.

Michigan fan here. My only interest is seeing the B10 recover and become a premiere conference again. Al Golden would do that imo. Thank god you guys are in the other division! LOL

This guy was born to dominate the Big 10. He's got stellar North East connections and recruits talented, high character kids. He'd have Urban Meyer scarfing down a piece of pizza every year. Plus, Wisconsin red would look great paired with Golden's trademark size 54 pleated khakis.

He's the type of hire the BIG needs. He's been a great evaluator and developer of South Florida talent. He would probably continue the same level of success he's had there, as well as the new midwestern talent that would now be open to him.

As a Buckeye fan, I'd both love and hate seeing him in Madison.

I don't think some of you guys get that, the Nate Dortchs, Larry Hopes and D'Mauris Jones of SoFLa, would be considered a **** of a recruiting coup in Wisconsin. They don't need the elite players form SoFLa, they need the ones the big three passes on.....the Al Golden specials. I'm telling you, Golden would be great in Wisconsin.

Can Wisconsin exceed his current salary?

Golden made 2.25 million this year, Anderson made 2.2. Not sure how Golden's contract works, but Andersons was set to give him 100K raises every year for rest of the 5 years on his deal. So I don't see why they couldn't give him at the very least 2.6 million a year without any problem, if they really want him. Public university, sells out every game and the Big Ten is making bank with their TV deal as well

Now, now we have to be fair and charitable. Al got us through the cloud and save us from ncaa. He rebuilt our recruiting base both here and in the NE. He did his time and we will just have to find the next guy in.
