Well said by both Cam and D'eriq. Im glad D'eriq is holding himself accountable. That should have a trickle down, effect.

I like that the game plan was to pound the rock. If we cant line up and pound UAB into submission then we dont need to be on the field. Statement by Lashlee and the offense. Take away King 83 yards rushing and we still go for 257 with very vanilla and bland playcalling.

We lose this game with Enos at the helm

I was reading the game day board and thought we lost. I almost gave the book the 5 stacks back because I thought they made a mistake and unjustly enriched me. No way we covered and put up 500 yards on the CIS super D genius Bill Cuck.
that's the thing, and it speaks to the system and pace -- even with a relatively vanilla game plan and not great line play, the rushing numbers were impressive. That to me, gives me hope. I'd like to think it can get better...

But of course the whiners on here don't see anything but the negatives.
Why is it always extremes on this board? Why can't we have some honest criticism and praise at the same time?

Why is it when people point out areas where we didn't look good that they are automatically a whiner? Conversely when people point out something positive they are immediately labeled as slurpers.

So what if some say they didn't like the play calling? That doesn't make them whiners? The truth is that most here just like to talk about their favorite football team. Some concentrate on the negative not because they are miserable whiners but because it's more natural for them to look for problem areas so they can talk about what needs to be done to correct it. Others are more inclined to look for the strengths of the team and think from that angle. As for there being some truly miserable posters who never see any positives yes of course there are. Are there some who just live in a reality where everything is positive no matter what? Yes of course. My point is that the actual number of people in each of these extreme catagories is far less than what many will have us believe.

The RBs were fantastic and will only get better. The OL will steadily get better and better throughout the season. 337 yards rushing vs this UAB defense is impressive. King played his 1st game in a year and a half and he will only get more comfortable and get better and better. King is a leader and this team needs that.

We need to get our Tight Ends involved more and we will.

The passing game and specifically the WR struggled for the most part. That must improve. Payton needs more reps as do the young kids.

The DL was very good but the back seven specifically the CBs and LBs need to improve. We are mediocre at CB. We need to see more of Brooks and Huff at LB. Why did Ragone get any PT?

Week 1 jitters out is fine, but Week 2 is a must-win...and elevated play is necessary.

I do believe King and co. will make it happen, but there's no denying we must play better on both sides of the ball.
Kinda cliche-ish. Pretty much all teams are going to say they must play better after game 1, and pretty much all teams WILL player better come Week 2.

Those are givens. The real question is the LEAP you are able to make by comparison to your peers.

We sucked last year, and we were playing a team with a win already under its belt in an empty stadium amid a pandemic. Oh yea, our best player declared for the draft before we were able to get things started as well.

Bottom line I think is you wanna consider the # of directions a game like this could've gone regarding the team we fielded. Unknowns all over the place, but you have to like tonight if you wanted realistic improvement from last year.

D Eriq king hasn’t played a live game in almost a whole year. He reshirted last year in Houston and didn’t play after four games. You can clearly see there is rust and he needs actual game day reps. By Clemson this offense will be doing a lot better!!!

No..
Everyone knows and can SEE that King and Cam are solidified ballers. THAT is REASON and Reality.
That same reason and reality see’s this OL is bad.. Really bad. And our CB situation is not good.

Agree, I made a promise to myself after the game lastnight that I’m no longer gonna go on the game day blog during the game because it just breeds negativity and ruins the game watching experience. I was literally in a bad mood watching the game and didn’t even enjoy it. No team is perfect and I gotta just get back to watching the game and if we win it’s a good day regardless of any mistakes made on the field. So from now on ill go in the blog after the game to either celebrate or bit<h. Lol That said Ivey needs to go and so does Rumph! That was a disgusting performance put on by Ivey lastnight, the dude isn’t a CB, move him to safety and put in one of the young guys already!

You guys are also missing some of the intangibles. The offense even vanilla as it was had UAB absolutely gassed. Its an offense wears on a defense more and more as the game goes on. They even reported that they were fighting each other on the sideline from frustration.
