If they're going to break the mold I'd want a higher quality program than Houston. I'd rather poach Texas or an SEC team like Auburn.
Auburn is not leaving the SEC. Maybe Texas would come if ND joined but would any of the ACC teams put up a stink that UT has its own television network? Prob not because it is only broadcast in the Big 12 geo area

Never say never, a lot of the teams involved in conference realignment on the last go-round were pretty far fetched, including Notre Dame. I think the ACC would welcome UT with open arms, as would ESPN who owns both networks. Our home schedule most years is really pathetic, I wish we'd do something.

EASY ....it has to be the Fightin Chipmunks of Central Michigan University.

We have to play them EVERY year home and away until we could beat them twice by 40 points OR until we get a new coaching staff.

It would force our staff to stop F'ing around and focus on each and every opponent

Outside of Florida, between USC, Ohio St and Texas which team would you like Miami to play every year?

I would like to see USC because of the similarities of both universities.
Oregon. Guaranteed to play a ranked and pre-season CFP favorite that annually sucks. Oregon is the only team in the PAC-12 that gets the SEC treatment--for whatever reason.

Not there yet ....no where close! How about we just try to put up an avg of 30 pts and win against teams we supposed to beat first before we get all into that. Ijs.

Go canes!

In the short term I’ll take another cupcake but long term:

Move to the AAC but play FSU & USC every season plus another P5 OOC game in a major market like ATL or NY.
AAC goes to 16 and realigns divisions into:
Metro - Central Florida, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Memphis, Southern Methodist, Temple, Tulsa, Pitt
Ocean - Boston College, East Carolina, Houston, Miami, Navy, South Florida, Tulane, Virginia

Best record/highest ranked team location for the conference championship game.

I'd like to have either Florida or Notre Dame every year, and then a Cali team & Northeast or midwest team as the 2nd game.
So this year might be @ Florida with BYU in Hard Rock. Then year 2 is @ BYU with Notre Dame at Home. Year 3 is @ Nebraska with Florida at home. Finally year 4 is Nebraska at Hard Rock and on the road @ Notre Dame. I would love to see Miami make a west coast swing every 6 years or so vs Cal or USC or Stanford.

UF obviously, but OP said no Florida.

ND has historical significance and is the most realistic;
Texas and USC would be good to get into "new" recruitment bases, and I would like to play those schools too.
I like OSU as a home-home every 3/4 years, not sure about a yearly thing.
