Always the most reasonable person on this board. Until we get rid of public unions for gov workers we will never be able to get rid of bad cops and there are plenty. All cops should be held responsible for their actions but they won't with the BS unions protecting them. Cops don't have anyone making sure they do the right things, gotta fix that. We've all seen the **** that goes on, they have to be held accountable, all of them.

I'm all for giving this woman a 5k fine with a few others like mandatory AA meetings. If he didn't hit her back he gets half out of the 5k for that slap but cops can't be clocking people like this or worse. Did she deserve it? You bet, but it can't be done by cops, only in a real self defense situations and this wasn't one of them. Why wasn't she cuffed? The real loser in this is the little boy, she should be horse whipped for this alone.

I agree with this, if i get emotional I want her to get slapped but looking at it objectively he was wrong. I was arguing with my brother and he changed his mind cuz I used his niece as an example.

I look at it like if it was my mom acting out or daughter and being stupid which is no excuse, the right thing was to take her out not punch her or slap her whatever the fuq he did (which was funny). Im not gun lie I would be mad and if the cops handle it the right way they would be more respected for it, its **** like that, that builds up hate toward them cause u know its not the first time.

They were taking her out, and that's when she assaulted the one cop. The way they handled her was nothing compared to the videos I've seen of cops jacking up unruly teenagers in a classroom.

Yup when you make it personal it changes everything. We should all try to take it personal when there is wrong doing. Try to look at it though another persons eyes. If it happens to one of us it happens to all of us, might help in fixing the problems and there are a lot of them. I'm with you I'm very protective of my family, friends and All Children.

If he punched her repeatedly then yes he should be disciplined but he didn't. If they had slammed her down people would be upset.

yes LEO's should be held to a different standard, but the double standard still exist no matter the occupation you're preaching to the wrong guy i clearly said the cop overreacted in my initial post. but go look at the mug shot pictures in whatever city you live in and pay attention to the suspects charged with resisting an officer with force, most of those guys will have bruises, eyes swollen shut and knots on their head, any MAN that puts his hands on a cop even if you "barely make contact" can expect a beatdown this woman just learned a hard lesson and tried it with the wrong cop

Seriously, what's wrong with you people? What kind of ***** looks at that video and doesn't see two people who are wrong? You don't get to hit cops, no exceptions. Cops only get to use force to subdue dangerous people, and you have to be a special kind of ***** to think that drunk btch was dangerous in any meaningful way. Annoying and in need of arresting? Absolutely, but he didn't hit her to protect himself, he hit her because she ****ed him off and that's not ok. Stop giving cops a pass because they have a tough, dangerous job. They should both be in jail because they clearly aren't able to make good choices and don't care if they hurt others. Maybe they could share a cell.

If I am the LEO's supervisor, I review the department standards for this type of event. If he violated the standard he gets an *** chewing and a letter in his file. If he did not conform to standards and over reacted he gets an *** chewing and is required to attend training on his own time.

If the case goes to court it will depend on the judge's view as much as the PD standards. Some judges will not look kindly on the officer's conduct, other judges with lots of experience in these sort of cases may issue another "punch" in the woman's pocket book or maybe even some small punitive action. The woman will show up sober with her best look and best behavior. A social justice warrior judge may award her a million dollars because it's not his money and he doesn't give a crap about the cost to the taxpayer.

One thing for certain, there is no way our social justice warrior, if called to jury duty, will never be selected because he has already adjudicated the cop guilty and asked he be fired.

For the cop, he's wishing he had been able to block the punch and or better yet passed on the extra duty paycheck. It's so much fun being a cop.

I don't think it was excessive force. Looked to me like the exact amount of force necessary to stop her assault. Excessive force would have been had he continued to pummel her after she had already stopped her threatening behavior. That officer is under no obligation to just stand there and get smacked around just because he's bigger, stronger, a male, or wearing a badge. He is authorized to use whatever force is necessary to stop such behavior and no more.
