Which Miami Hurricanes team was better: 1986 or 2002?

The 1999-2000 team is the most under talked about team in our history.

We missed out on a National Championship because of a f_u_c_k_i_n_g computer algorithm.

The '99-'00 team absolutely destroys that Oklahoma team that beat FSU 13-2.
Yup
OU knows
It as well
We would have ***ed them up in a big way

86 was disgusting I can’t even comprehend Vinnie playing that bad
We could have just run the ball and won!!!

02, I was there….we got our butts kicked in trenches (Oline)
Having said that
4th and 15 was ridiculous
Then Porter flag after fireworks

They both suck
Both teams were loaded

Prob 02 was better overall talent from NFL perspective

JB RIP

1986: Still trying to figure that out almost 40 years later. I can’t forgive Vincenzo tbh.

2002: was there too. OSU outplayed/out coached us but-still won the game. Biggest ***** job referee call of all time.

Agreed that people forget the 2000 team’s greatness and being screwed by the system.

Throw in the 88 team. Insane schedule, and a bad call/bad refs was enough to keep from repeating.

2002 team was uber talented but played with its food a lot. A few games (Rutgers comes to mind but I think there were others) where we didn’t dominate with the level of talent we had.

1986 team had a tremendous year and just laid an egg in the championship (that may be harsh considering we outgained PSU and it was the turnovers that doomed us).

No wrong answers but I’d go with 1986.

Couldn’t even stay on topic for one post

Nicely done

02 was better.if they played with fire like the 01 team back to back easily.

I agree 00 is slept on too. But even tho this team wasn't a play away from a chip,I still believe that 03 team had the best defense ever!!! And if the QB play was average at best this team runs the table

Unpopular opinion here, I’m sure, but I blame Dorsey as much for 2002 as I do Vinny for 1986. I think that ‘02 had more pro talent, but they slept walked too many times and had Coker at the helm. Ohio State was just about equally talented, had arguably a better defense, so the loss to them wasn’t quite as bad as losing to that impotent Penn State offense. The TOs did us in against PSU and deciding to stop running with Highsmith, he was killing them all night.

I like that playing with food analogy. It's true too.
