Honest answers only (I know so many of you are going to flood the comments with "No. 1!!!!!!!")

I've got us realistically at 5th or 6th (depending on how you feel about Georgia). The teams ahead of them:

Ohio State
Oregon
Texas
Indiana
Notre Dame

The only reason I don't have them ranked higher is because I think we are losing truly ELITE players at edge and on the offensive line. Mario and crew are doing a good job of reloading, but replacing the best two edge players in the country AND the best offensive tackle in the country (in addition to a bunch of other really good players) is no small task.

This isn't to say I think Miami can't beat those teams. I think they'll be able to hang with anyone. But those teams look more complete, at least on paper.

Not what I think they'll do, but where I would realistically rank the teams:
1. Miami
2. Texas
3. OSU
4. Notre Dame
5. Georgia
6. Ole Miss (with Chambliss)
7. Penn State
8. Oregon
9. Indiana
10. LSU

I’d say top 3

Texas will again be a media darling and be #1 because “manning figured it out” but they do have talent like Simmons at edge and a nice core of WRs.

After that it gets interesting in terms of popularity… as long as we’re top 3 and handle are business we are playoff bound and 1-0 mantras can start again

Looks like top 10 units on both sides of the ball including the best defensive line again.

If the unproven OL is good then #1.

Until Texas actually proves to me that they can put it all together on the field I still don’t trust them. Plus, they have a pretty tough schedule.

Ohio St. has to play Texas, Indiana, Oregon, USC, and Michigan. Not an easy slate and they just made a terrible OC hire.

With Indiana, can Hoover replicate what Mendoza did? We’ll see.

When you look at the schedules, Miami clearly has the easiest road. The Notre Dame game will be a war, but other than that we should be favored to win in every other game. I just think when you factor in talent and schedule, you could make a case for us being #1.
