Where is the TE in this Offense?

Dawson didn't use TEs in Houston. I don't know why anyone was thinking he'd tweak this offense considerably, especially year 1, to make them a focal point.

Should he? I absolutely think so because some of our TEs are more talented than some of our WRs and it can give us a matchup problems......but he hasn't. Why is the question we all have.

Riley Williams is gonna be a stud somewhere else at this point.

Is Dawson allergic to using the TE? Arroyo was supposed to be a superstar and he never plays. Riley Williams is a major mismatch, and he rarely plays. I've never seen an offense that ignores the TE like this offense does. Love X but start spreading the ball around and include the TEs!
Restrepo got 17 targets, no room for TEs to get targets. #7 got to eat!

Or encourage Arroyo, Skinner, and Williams to transfer because this offense utilizes them like a triple option offense fails to utilize wide receivers.

Why do people always suggest our best players 'should transfer'? Are other fan bases this stupid?

Arroyo has been out for a year ... would he have been getting more catches at ND rehabbing his knee on the bench?

Williams is a true freshman.

Skinner can't catch!

I'm being sarcastic, but I would expect Williams at the very least to have had at least one target. Well, I checked. He's got one.

Halfway through the season here are our targets for tight ends:

  • 4 - R Williams
  • 4 - C McCormick
  • 1 - J Skinner

I believe @JustAFanHTX said (not intended as a call out, please correct me if I'm wrong) that Dawson loves our TE room and TEs are a big part of his playbook.

However, we have not seen much of it yet.

It's clear that we just don't have a HEALTHY TE that can adequately block AND be a meaningful, reliable, downfield threat.

McCormick can block but probably isn't a big threat with the ball/downfield.
Riley is young so he's probably not a great blocker yet.
Skinner is a threat with the ball but can't block or catch.
Arroyo is still out. Potentially our best weapon on offense because of his versatility and he's still not playing halfway through the season.

Or RBs (Johnson) in the passing game, other than Parrish on a cross-the-field checkdown out route.
