Where is Artravious Jones?

Jones was described coming out of H.S. as being super strong, but lacking technique. There's more to playing DT than just being big. He needs to learn his craft and he's with an excellent coaching group to do that.

Yep. +1000

In my life, I have seen three players so ludicrously and comically ignored, and so grossly discounted by the "experts" and "gurus" to the point it called into serious question whether they actually knew what sport it was they were watching, .... when Stevie Wonder could have told you after only 10 minutes that the guys would be ballers:

Sean Taylor
Ray Lewis
Leon Searcy

And if you consider Malachi Toney as a "3 Star" recruit, then he's on the watch list to be in that group.
Ray Lewis was a known quantity! FSU all but locked him up until his SAT scores ran them off. We got Ray Lewis at the eleventh hour.

Don't think it's a "might." We potentially need multiple DTs in the portal, but I'm gonna just try to enjoy this season right now.
I agree, but next season could return a lot for this staff to work with. Miami needs as many blowouts as possible to get Jones, Russell, and Simpson some much needed game rep this season, their development is vital.

2026 Homegrown DTs
  1. Justin Scott JR
  2. Armondo Blount JR
  3. Artavius Jones RSO
  4. Daylen Russell RSO
  5. Donta Simpson SO
  6. Mykah Newton RFR
  7. Anthony Kennedy FR
  8. Tyson Bacon FR
  9. *one high rated flip*

You add a senior or two to that group.

I wouldn’t assume Blount is gonna turn into a DT. He could just as easily stay a big DE as much as he can grow into a DT.

May need 3 DTs in the portal. 2 of these 9 will leave anyway.

He is 265 at 18 years old and is currently playing the majority of his snaps at DT. During fall camp he did interviews with the DT group. The staff is telling us they view him as a DT.

if you want pt, move to DT. Guess what happens next year? Bain and Mesidor leave so Blount will be needed as a rush end

Regardless if Blount is a full time DT or not he will be in the DT rotation. Again he is a 265 pound 18 year old, with his frame he could easily be 280 - 290 by spring 2026.

Blount is available and open playing both DT and DE.

Nice, intriguing young group, but not chasing conference title & playoffs without one or two more grown *** big bodies.

I am not seeing the twitch and athleticism from Blount to play DE
Really? I tend to see the opposite, I see a twitched up athlete that really has no idea how to control his body or use his technique. He is just 18, I see him in kind of the Messidor role, bigger DE that slides inside on third down. As for Jones I unfortunately think he gets recruited or portaled over, doesnt seem to be available enough, who was the DT we lost to UGA? Horton? Feel kinda the same, flashed at times, decent practice reports, strong, weird nagging injuries.
