Where are the patterns?

We're making mistakes like any team does, but where are the patterns? One time OJ gets beat. One time ZP misses a tackle. One time Mo can't catch the outside run. One game the qb run gets us. But where are the patterns of mistakes repeating?

What are the real weaknesses on this team (assuming no injuries....)?

When has this board been this happy? I mean even the mopes aren't moping. Every time we get ranked high, there are consistently mopes getting downvoted for pointing out slight issues with the squad that always come back to bite us.

Can someone tell me some ******* concerns about this team so I don't pass out off the kool aid???

Honestly the mopes have pointed out that it is only September, so I guess that is what you are looking for, do what we are doing in November. I am not a mope, so I am currently enjoying the **** out of this.
I'm not a mope either but they have a point. We've been down this road before. This *feels* different, but we'll only know if it really is in late November.

Yes that is my point. Only September is why I don't want to overdose on kool aid. Every time we're in this spot theres always at least some real concerns pointed out that are what kills us later in the season. Where are the concerns that could come back to bite us? Where are the weaknesses that ACC teams will exploit like they always do?

It seems like the only concern now is that its "Only September" but every year we lose later in the season the concerns are way bigger than that.

I'm not a mope but OJ has been beat more than once. Brown too.

I still have questions cocerning our secondary. I believe they are improved. How much? Remains to be seen. We have yet to play a team with a downfield passing attack.
I feel like there is some inevitability to being beat when left on an island as often as OJ is against the other team’s best WR.
And remember OJ is still just a sophomore.

Not saying I am happy about it, but sooner or later this will happen.

one pattern that is concerning but doesn't seem to catch the attention of you mongrels is the extra point operation.

it almost cost us the game against ND and will cost us anxiety if not greater down the road.

it is malignant operation that has been present for all THREE game. @Empirical Cane, is that a pattern?
Not only is it a pattern, it's a FEATURE...

meng.

¿Qué clase de tonterías están pasando en Greentree?

The biggest consistent issue I see, and I'm not a mope or homer, just a monster fan who wants to see the team be better, if we have been unable to get points off turnovers.

Every time we can crush their spirit and I leave soooo disappointed and vs ND is bit us quite a bit.

I am a Mario slurper. But clock management has creeped up again. I thought this was solved last year with a dedicated analyst. He is 0-2 for in clock management this year. He botched calling a timeout at the end of the half against ND. We were bailed out by the play of the year. At the end of the ND he inexplicably thought ND was out of TO's when they had one left. How did that happen? That absolutely cannot happen again. So this is still a concern.

Concerns:
Speed at WR, are we fast enough to beat teams downfield in the CFP or do we just win the 1v1 with Moore/Daniels. W/o, teams will load the box.

DE depth- we have 3 guys ready to play every snap. Lightfoot, Bryant, Pickett are edge only. We need 44 healthy, 35 to keep developing, and most importantly the top 3 to remain healthy. Another key is going to be Blounts continued improvement allowing more of a rotation for 3/4.

USF may have shown us that Mario is finally willing to beat the breaks off of good teams. No more going into a shell. Let the ones get the score comfortable then play lots of twos to get reps higher for twos and lower for ones.

Lastly, I have seen nothing to show a change in how refs call our games. DMoney said it: how does the top OL get called for 4-5 penalties yet USF called for none against our top 10 DL? trader being dragged by the facemask for 10 yards with no flag. Toney almost tackled with the ball near him. Bain horsecollared by RT. Etc etc etc I don’t give two ***** about being perfect just be fair/balanced.

Please do no infer that I believe OJ is a liability. On the contrary, he is very good. I'm just not ready to crown the secondary after 3 games.

ND played conservatively and tried to stretch us horizontally, yet hit on a couple of explosives vertically. BC doesn't count. USF hit several long pass plays with a QB who, despite a strong arm, is not a very accurate thrower. Allowing those USF receivers to get behind our corners, etc. is something worth monitoring.

Am I worried about our secondary? Not really. So far we are signficantly improved in how we communicate, cover and tackle. However, I want to see how we perform against a team with a strong passing attack. UiF was suppsoe to present that challenge but Lagway is struggling. UiL and Brohm's propensity to scheme will certaialy present a challenge.

but those throws were as if made by Joe Montana. right on the money.

drink up my friend
things are finally different this year
we are no longer a glass cannon

I'm really confused, when did corners NEVER get beat at some point? EVERY corner gets beat especially in this passing era where even lower level teams are competent enough to pass.

Its like if one or two passes is caught oh this guy got beat.. lol.. if it's a trend or flagrant I understand but every team has corners that get passes caught

Right now only thing I am seeing is we have no depth on dline and it's really glaring at DE.. bye weeks early in year so that back half wit 7bgame stretch might be issue
