When/where to buy tickets

Been many years since I've gone to a game in person. I'm planning to go to the Stanford game, but the Stanford site says tickets don't even go on sale til the summer, while the broker sites say they're almost sold out. Crap seats are showing on seat geek, etc for like $300. Any insight appreciated.

Single game seats go on sale in July, but I'm not sure about away games.

Insight:

1. Relax.
2. Broker sites SIX MONTHS in advance are worthless.
3. Relax.
4. First, Miami will offer away game tickets to Miami STHs and HC members.
5. Second, Stanford will sell single game tickets.
6. Once all of THAT happens, there will be a full inventory of tickets that are available and/or offered for sale on secondary websites.

It will all work out. I cannot possibly envision a world in which Miami at Stanford is the toughest ticket to get in college football.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Just confused that the broker sites were even selling now.

Going to the Stanford game as well. Stanford hasn’t starting distributing tickets yet so you don’t have to worry. Those tickets you see on Seatgeek, stub hub, Ticketmaster, etc are all being listed by season ticket holders. Even if you buy them now the seller won’t be able to transfer you the ticket yet.

Also the game is Friday September 4, Labor Day is the following Monday. Most students and Bay Area residents are going to be out of town for the long weekend not going to Palo Alto. If the game gets 40k I would be shocked.

I go to an away game almost every year and I never buy tickets in advance. I get them from sites like vividseats or stubhub during the season, sometimes the week of the game. I typically try to find where the visitor's section is and then buy there. Those tickets usually aren't available on third party sites until after the tickets are released, so you can't get them very far in advance. That approach wouldn't work well for a game like Notre Dame but you'll have no problem getting Stanford tickets.

It's all good. I was trying to be funny and I possibly veered into some smart-assery, but there should be plenty of seats available later this year.
