We **** the bed on a game of this magnitude, with this much significance given:

  • We're ranked in the Top 10
  • We're undefeated
  • We're playing at home

???

Hmm...that criteria is tough to match.

Miami wasn't at home vs FSU in 2013.
Miami wasn't undefeated vs Ga. Tech in 2005.

I'm having trouble finding something comparable at the moment.
 
not really a useful stat since we havent been good enough in the last 12 years to get to this point really


i guess losing to FSU in 2013.

we were frauds but undefeated still so still had everything to gain
 
We ain't losing this weekend . **** I doubt VT keeps it close as they arent really a very good team IMO. ND could easily beat us as we might come out of this VT game sky high ( winning by 20 IMO) and get too big on our selves and then lose to ND . Luckily it won't matter in the ACC race if we do. I am not saying we will lose to ND just that it might happen. I truly believe we would have to play as bad as we did against UNC and VT would have to play their best game of the season for us to lose. If we play like we did in any other game this season we beat VT IMO.

When was the last time Miami beat FSU & Va. Tech in the same season?

Have to go all the way back '02, I believe.

Yeah that would have to be the last time . I do think we all knew that team was a fraud though. No big deal losing that game but we lost like 4 straight with that and ended with a bad record. That would never happen with a decent coach with his players.

Okay, okay, technically speaking you're right, but last year at 4-0 having beaten FAMU, FAU, App. St., and Ga. Tech...well, that just doesn't feel the same as the current situation.

We are more tested this year
Have already beaten fsu who has given us trouble the last 7 years, best ga tech
5-0 ACC play, relatively healthy at every position outside of walton which wasn’t the case vs Virginia Tech last year considering how many starters were injured on defense.

Yes and No.....remember we had all kinds of confidence. The App St. blowout changed attitude towards team. Many felt that program was different. Then the comfortable win at GT...there was buzz.

Getting an FSU team that gave up 60+ to Louisville....3rd year starting QB versus a freshman QB playing on the road. Pretty sure we were favorites and it was supposed to be our year to end the streak. There were pretty high expectations going into that game.

We forget because we tanked the whole month of October.
 
FSU 2010 was the last time we truly **** the bed at home when we were expected to win. We had just came off a brutal road trip playing at OSU, Pitt, and Clemson and came out 2-1. I believe it was a sellout crowd too and FSU blew us out.

VT 2013 was also a **** the bed moment for us as well.
