When should Jarren get pulled against UVA?

Had Hightower streaking to the corner of the end zone wide open on the first play.

Watch the play at the beginning of the 4th quarter on 3rd and 19.

On a 3rd and 19, you know that more often than not you're going to have to throw short of the sticks. Perry has a ton of time to throw, drifts left, steps up......and Deejay leaks out of the backfield to the left side WIDE OPEN there's no one within 25 yards of him. And Perry holds onto the ball way too long trying to find someone downfield when it's clearly not there and takes a sack. If he just flips the ball out to Deejay he can walk for 20 yards and it's 1st and 10 at around the VT 30 yard line. Situational awareness, diagnosing coverages, being smart with the football....these are all things Perry struggles mightily with.

I don’t understand why we’re starting a QB that is physically unable to get the ball in our biggest playmaker’s hands. There were at least half a dozen plays against UNC where Thomas had his man beat but Jarren didn’t see him. But that makes sense because even if he did see JT streaking free, he wouldn’t be able to deliver the ball to him.

He is a turnover machine waiting to happen. Got lucky with the roughing the passer call and was extremely lucky on at least one other that I can remember where the VT player straigh up dropped a gift.

But still though -- is he a better option than JW? He can certainly make the throws if his read is open.

Perry did some nice things no doubt. But why are we so quick to forget all the good things Jarren has done leading up to the game? Something was clearly not right with him after that first INT. Let them battle it out this week and play the best man. Simple as that....

Oh you mean like him mentally folding..............or maybe it's the fact that he can't attack the defense down the field with appropriate timing and accuracy and defenses have adjusted............................or maybe it's that he's not seeing the field well and only attacking down field when wide receivers have broke open and not before like a competent QB should (which would explain point two better). Or maybe it's all the above and he isn't ready and shouldn't be playing. Him starting Friday is unacceptable.............there are no two ways about this. It was evident against Central Michigan, it didn't take a 21-28 point hole against a 5-6 win VT team for the ******* light to come on.

It's bad enough as a staph to make the wrong decision, but to compound it based off pride is no different from Golden. **** these sorry *** coaches
