Cried by Christmas tree. That's why I'll be the way I am about the Canes. No Excuses

Funny thing about those terrible 1970s Canes teams. They produced some of our greatest NFL players -- guys like Ottis Anderson, Eddie Edwards, Dennis Harrah, Chuck Foreman, Tom "Silky" Sullivan, Don Latimer, Rubin Carter, Lester Williams ... Problem was we never found a QB who could play a lick until Jim Kelly at the very end of the decade.

What was neat all the Chickillos went to Southwest senior high school back then we had split shift class sessions , I lived on the lake across from Chickillo's house and after FB practice whether it morning practice or afternoon practice the second it ended everyone ran I mean a darn foot race towards my house down the side of the house flying off the dock of course throwing the FB DOING SPECTACULAR MID AIR CATCHES.

Sam Scarnnechia's ( UM hall of fame) son was or QB at SW throwing to us off the dock , any way 'llI stop sharing before some here start getting foul.

Some very rich UM formation that led to NC history during those days.

I started going back to games solo with out the fam in '92. It was with some Westwood dudes, great times until 3yrs ago. I know you must have a ton of Chick stories. Sweet.

September 5th, 1981. Jim Kelly goes down and Mark Richt leads the comeback. We kicked a 55 yard FG to win it. I didn't know they even existed before that, as I was a kid that only knew NFL football.
