The 2013 VT game showed me that he would constantly be a failure here - a competent coach would have won by 2 TD's.

Though keeping NO D after 2012 exposed him as a nepotist.

After year 2 and didn't fire Doritos and started the deflect campaign instead of owning the shortcomings of the team.

Beginning of 2012. When we struggled to beat a 2 win Boston College and then got demolished by K-State, it was pretty clear that Golden was a horrible coach.

One of the Kansas State games (2012) I gave up hopes for anything we would consider worthy of The U. They revived to a "despite Al we may just talent our way to a decent bowl even if non-BCS" level after 5 wins in a row to start 2013 I believe, but after struggling with cakewalks like UNC & Wake Forest, they died for good.

When he went AWOL right before signing day while trying to get a different job, ruining what was left of our recruiting class and ****ting on people from local high schools.

How people still defended him after that made me sick.

I was never sold on him being a good or even a decent coach, but I gave up on him as a human being after that

The K State game in 2012 said it all. We couldn't stop the same play, over and over and over.

The Wake Forest game when we were 6-0 headed into FSU week. We gave up 500 plus yards and needed to score late in 4th quarter at home to sneak by. Then were 21 point dogs as the "#7 team" in the country to FSU and got waxed.

Who cares, most people keep pushing back when they gave up on Al earlier and earlier, soon everyone is going to say during the Maryland game.

You're right. That said, a few people really did give up during the Maryland game. Miami82 or whatever with "The 300" avatar was one of them who was negged to death for it.

That game was comical. Golden was so confused when Wake spread their OL out for the entire 1st half.

They were such chalk eating morons during the BC game btw. "Well, see, we played these d1cks on the the other side in the MAC, and they didn't do some of this stuff then, so we just figured we'd let them run roughshod all over us and not adjust the whole game" was basically their rationale. They were a walking "bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off" gif.

correct and his inability to adjust showed us that he was clueless and the ultimate "my system trumps all" guy. Wake was like 4-8 that year

That wAs it for me. Here we are three years later and the same exact play got us beat 58-0 by Clemson and tea bagged by unc. It's downright laughable how they have NO answer at all for that type of o
