Isn't Citadel a triple option team?

Yes, and it was priceless hilarity when I read the header, with certainty that the OP had no clue

The triple option is a phenomenal offense that allows teams to outplay their talent level.

There is no question that if we were running the triple option we would have defeated Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. You can argue upside and whether elite kids would join. We would be an exponentially tougher team on both sides of the ball.

Once the offense fell out of favor then conventional wisdom took over and everyone bailed. That has been true of every offense every designed. The triple option has fantastic fundamentals because it enables 1 on 0, 2 on 1, and 3 on 2 mismatches across the board. Georgia Tech never wins that game last week without reverting to triple option physicality and concepts. They converted a critical 4th and 1 with an option pitch. Heck the Saints ran an option play successfully for a huge gain against the Bears on Sunday.

The forward inside pitch plays that countless teams use now are nothing but option designs except a less risky forward pass instead of backwards laterals.

Anyway, I agree with the OPs unintentional argument that if we wanted to dictate matters to Georgia Tech and reverse the physical pecking order we needed to be running the triple option

Get of the toilet or crap. They have a line that is about 280 pounds and lowly ranked recruits. The biggest man on their O-line is 295.

Here is the recruit rankings for the Citadel. One three star and all others 2 and no stars and they got it done in the O-line.

who are you trying to fool.. That is a pathetic attempt to cover up an inept U offensive line and play calling. That Citadel offensive line is no way the caliber of the GT defensive line and linebackers.

While not the way to NC; UM would win at least 9 games a year and win the ACC every now and then if it ran a triple option. Lot of good RB's in Florida. Quick QB's that could throw a bit and allow tough but undersized OL to be productive. No we would not get 5* offensive players, but it would be fun to watcfh.

Interesting what Bryant McKinnie said on the Brett Romberg radio program about the veteran dead weight we are carrying on the O-line that just is not motivated to work hard. I guess that is why Nelson and Clark have started over them as true freshmen.

Enos is garbage.

This. We didn’t need a triple option. Cam was running it down their throats. Zion actually looked okay out there, and our OL gave up 2 sacks on the day.

So our OL finally doesn’t suck for a game. You’d think we’d win easy right?

This putz decides to get cute in the red zone over and over. He can’t even set up an easy FG for our struggling Kickers at end of regulation by running a couple times to middle of field.

O line play was improved, at least in the first half.

The Citadel threw only 4 passes and completed 1. They had no problem running on GT. Says something about this O-line.
We ran the ball successfully. Our brain dead OC refuses to give more than one running back significant carries. And that one running back will never get over 20 carries a game. If we kept the ball on the ground we would have easily won.

Wait, this happened this year? What the facking **** . Citadel beats GT. GT beats Miami. Cool Cool
