Yes, and it was priceless hilarity when I read the header, with certainty that the OP had no clue
The triple option is a phenomenal offense that allows teams to outplay their talent level.
There is no question that if we were running the triple option we would have defeated Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. You can argue upside and whether elite kids would join. We would be an exponentially tougher team on both sides of the ball.
Once the offense fell out of favor then conventional wisdom took over and everyone bailed. That has been true of every offense every designed. The triple option has fantastic fundamentals because it enables 1 on 0, 2 on 1, and 3 on 2 mismatches across the board. Georgia Tech never wins that game last week without reverting to triple option physicality and concepts. They converted a critical 4th and 1 with an option pitch. Heck the Saints ran an option play successfully for a huge gain against the Bears on Sunday.
The forward inside pitch plays that countless teams use now are nothing but option designs except a less risky forward pass instead of backwards laterals.
Anyway, I agree with the OPs unintentional argument that if we wanted to dictate matters to Georgia Tech and reverse the physical pecking order we needed to be running the triple option
