Not only are the local kids going elsewhere but the program is becoming irrelevant nationally. Is Miami's relevance at a tipping point or is it already sliding down hill? I don't know if the school gets merchandising money from hat sales or whatever but for the first time I walked into my local lids hat store and there wasn't a single hat with anything Miami. That's the first time that's happened. Who cares that I couldn't get a Miami hat in Charleston SC? Only me, but I think it points to a bigger deal. I'm going to guess that stores stock what sells right? Even here in SC I could get a Canes hat.. not anymore. Does the admin really want to become irrelevant nationally? Do they think the BBall team will carry the brand? Would anybody know about Boise State if not for the football team? How about TCU? Does the U just want to be a local brand? How well will that work out when all the local kids are wearing FSU/OSU/Alabama hats because that's where they aspire to play ball?
Admin, you're brand is in a free fall. Pull the cord or hope for the best...what's the smart choice? **** it, who cares that you can't get a Miami hat in SC anymore. It doesn't mean a thing.
