What's your key?

Offense - Make the play when your # is called. Move the chain!

Defense - Find a way to get off the field on 3rd down.

To me it's simple...3rd down. We have to get off the field on defense and we need to convert at least 50% of on offense. Cannot be in 3rd & 7 or longer all night long.

Hitting their QB early and often. Ditto their RBs. We must get into backfield and bring lumber early in the game to set the proper tone. Defense might need to score some, not so much to win but to put more pressure on Clemson offense for points.

The coaches.

Our players will come to play. But this isn't a game that we can just line up and win. On offensive we have to roll in there with some stuff that they're not prepared for. Some new wrinkles in the run game. Rollouts with Rosier. A trick play or two. If we come in predictable, we're done. On defense Manny needs to come up with a masterpiece. Our o isn't going to score a ton so we really need to be tight on d. All comes down to the coaches. If we can outsmart them and come up with some stuff their unprepared for, we've got a great shot.

1. Consistently put ourselves in 2nd and manageable
2. Offensively convert on 3rd down (40% or better)
3. Prevent them from converting on 3rd down
4. Malik Completion % above 58%

O line play, particularly in the run game. Have to stay out of 3rd and 7+ as much as possible. I really think we can take advantage of their think secondary, but getting the run game going is key to that.

We should check off the intangible factor - like the Notre Dame game, in a way this team is playing with house money. They should not be feeling any pressure at all. That alone should give us an emotional edge. How much is that worth? That's why it's an "intangible"

As far as the game...

1. Win the turnover battle - this is our bread and butter. Protect the football and take it away from the opposition.
2. Gain positive yards on first down, stay out of 3rd and more than 5
3. Do not miss tackles. Get their guys on the ground the first time, no "second chance" yardage

Destroy what's in front of you.

Seek and destroy.

We did that 2x this year. Late in the Va Tech game we were hitting everything that moved.
