What would you guys think of a Jedd Fisch return?

I wouldnt mind him as OC, but his support staff has to be recruiters... Seider, Trooper, Elite OL coach, etc. My worry with Jedd would be that he seems to be a low energy smart guy... better for a QBs coach than an OC who has to effectively get his side of the ball to physically impose their will on the competition.
Absolutely agree.

Pass. Very low energy guy who isn't someone who's going to land the type of recruits we need

Low T is a common problem in older men. Nugenix would fix that problem.

A great play caller but I don't want his offense. I want a spread style offense ( a run heavy spread not a pass heavy one) He is a great offensive mind though IMO.

Strongly opposed , he’s not an elite play caller and doesn’t like to recruit

When he was at Miami we ranked #6 in the Acc and #5 in the acc in total offense, if that’s what we are aiming for in this search then we might as well fold Diaz tenure up tbh

So you’d rather have James Coley?

**** good play caller, **** good developer of QBs. Not a strong recruiter, but most solid OCs aren't. I'd rather take a run at Harrell, Yost or some other options, but Fisch is by far the best of the second and third tier guys. I'd take him over Applewhite. By the way, Fisch had a great relationship with the Miami athletic department, and was mighty close to some people that are still at Miami, including Katie Meier. Maybe Coach could help sell him on coming back.

Bring him onboard as OC and give him complete control of the scheme and play calling.

NCAA is adding another assistant coach so we wouldn't have to drop anyone.
he was good when he was here but he is a pro style guy. with diaz hinting wants to go spread it doesn't seem like the kind of hire he would make. I also find it funny a coach in press conference to hype his current school for a natty game says no interest in coming ot Miami and people just believe him how many times have coaches liked from saban about bama , to petrino about Arkansas. it happens all the time guys lie then with a week are actually doing j ob the told everyone had 0 interest in. I am not saying jeff scott is hire I am just saying coaches lie all the time just cause they say something doesn't make I true

I don't really understand the not a good play caller thing with Fisch.

Was he a terrific play caller? No. He often got too pass happy and outsmarted himself. But he was generally very solid. Made good adjustments and gave us a good shot to win games despite Golden's abortion of a defense.

And yes, he worked wonders with Jacory and Morris.

Your statement should have answered your question. When you said “generally very solid” that should’ve lit a light bulb that said **** no. There are better play callers and developers of talent nowadays that we should no longer settle for very solid. How about an innovative play caller that truly gets the most out of his players and develops them for the next level.

Warming up to the idea Fisch. Honestly, he's the best playcaller of any of the rumored candidates, best QB coach, and he's learned some new tricks from McVay...

BUT he needs to be treated like Coach Kool at Bama in that we cannot and should not expect him to recruit, which means we would need a Seider and Trooper Taylor on staff otherwise as I said in another tread, he'd be a disaster. Wouldn't worry about him leaving for the NFL due to the new rules.

There's a reason he was the last OC we had to get an NFL offer.

I liked him as a play-caller. He used the whole field, was creative in the run game, varied his screen plays tremendously. Basically the opposite of the Mork & Mindy show.

My reservation however is recruiting. He wasn't rumored to be particularly fond of that and given the Shicht show, we need someone to sell their vision for the offense. We can't afford anymore, "wait and see, kid."

Huge recruiting liabilty especially at QB

Look at his prior stops at Miami and Michigan

Perfect Meh-ami fit

Check his UCLA numbers. Dude did some work with an awful offensive line and no real weapons besides Rosen.
