What would it take?

As a Miami Hurricane fan, what would it take for you to no longer hate Al Golden? What type of success would the Hurricanes need to achieve this season for you to believe that he can potentially take The U to the top? The past 4 seasons leave slim to no hope that he could appear anything more than subpar, but what do you feel would have to happen for you to view him in a more positive light and no longer request for Butch, Chip or whomever else? Just wondering....

What has been done, can't be undone.

If he wins the whole ******* thing, I'll buy him a fruit basket on his way out.

I've seen too much evidence in 4 years to imagine that he is better than what he has shown. I'm 6 feet tall/ The only way I'll believe I'm going to be taller, is if I wake up tomorrow and I'm 6'3".

Ain't gonna happen.

I'll give him another year if he wins the acc. I'll stop thinking he's a terrible coach if he wins the ACC and a bowl.

There is nothing he can do that would change my opinion of him, nothing. He tried leaving and lied about it. He refused to make the necessary changes to his coaching staff out of stubbornness. He's made life as a canes fan miserable.

Face him, his family and anyone who still supports him.

You have evidence of this? So far all I have seen is internet rumors, with no basis in fact that this ever even occurred. As far as him thinking about the job at Penn State, he went to school there, and I am sure he did at least give it some thought. So what, ultimately he stayed with Miami.

Now back to the topic at hand, I would want him to win at least 10 games, go to the ACC championship game, and win a bowl game.

Sneaking off to PSU killed any good feelings I still had about Golden. If he wins this year, he's gone anyway to the first offer he gets. (Probably gonna be Rutgers).

I feel with the time served, talent available and schedule...winning out convincingly, including the ACC championship is the only way imo. An average coach in his 5th season with this talent and this schedule would come close to achieving that.

When the former players who helped make the program great are welcomed with open arms and openly endorse him AND they win the ACC AND end up in the top ten with no more than one loss.

There were swirling rumors that he interviewed with Penn State (rumors on the Miami side, rumors on the Penn St side, as well as rumors from non-affiliated media members), which coincided with Golden going off the grid for an entire weekend. The AD tried to cover it up by saying he'd been in contact with Golden, but Shalala superseded him and said they had NOT been in contact with Al Golden.

You will never get the "evidence" you ask for, but it's obvious what went down.

Did he choose to stay or did he not get hired? He could have easily said, "i didn't have any interest in the job", or "they reached out to me, but I turned it down." Say something. However, he didn't. He refused to address it.

My issue isn't that. If he doesn't want to be here, then leave. I could say that he would have to win the ACC and a bowl game but it's at that point where it is too toxic. It's like dating. No matter how good the *** is, you're done because of all the other stuff.

There is nothing Golden can do to redeem himself. He is a piece of **** of the highest order, and the very sight of him makes me sick to my stomach. He creates his own statistics to cover up for his inadequacies, he throws his players under the bus, he refuses to make a single change to this ****** defensive scheme he runs, and makes up way too many clichés and worthless hashtag slogans. All of this equates to being a ******* god awful coach and a worthless human being. He could find a way to win 2 national championships this season and would still need to DIAF. Go to **** Golden! We ******* hate your worthless ******* piece of **** ***.

Again, only internet rumors, no confirmation with actual news articles from reputable reporters saying that they confirmed with the Penn State and/or Miami administrations that a meeting between Golden and Penn State actually occurred.

And he didn't even say there was nothing to them. He refused to comment on them which would lead one to logically assume that they reached out to hm at the very least.
