What to expect from TVD going forward.

I mentioned this in another thread, but since this thread is about TVD, I'll mention it again. During Mario's postgame press conference, he said that TVD was not injured but healthy, and he offered that unsolicited. No reporter asked him about TVD and his health after a poor game.

But here's my question: the last play of the game for Miami (after GT kicked the ball out of bounds), we got the ball on our own 43 yard line. TVD can't throw the ball 57 yards for a Hail Mary? Wouldn't a Hail Mary be a better percentage than a trick play?

We really need to develop Lane and bring in a best available portal QB that money can buy regardless if TVDuck stays or goes. Oline gave him all day to pass and he continues to stare down him primary read while throwing into triple coverage just to get the ball to X.

TVD continues to miss wide open WRs not named X and hes been doing it for 3 years now
Facts

EVERYONE was sucking TVD off the first 4 weeks and he was one of the top QBs in the nation.

Now because of a bad game, in the rain, with a **** gameplan everyone thinks he sucks? Am i understanding this right?

I'm willing to bet Mario himself looked ahead of this game and told Dawson to hold back because he didn't want to show things to UNC on tape. That's the kind of out smarting himself corch Mario is.

The only thing to worry about TVD would be his finger on his throwing hand. He didn't look to have the same zip on the ball this past week. Don't know if it was the wet ball or his finger, but something was off

I was under the influence on Saturday but was planning to rewatch the game and try to focus on Miami play calling and development vs what TVD did

Off my hazy memory I don’t think Dawson put us into many “easy” plays against GaTech
There were a lot of easy plays. The problem was that TVD wasn't being patient. He'd keep forcing throws to the 15+ yard routes instead of taking the 6-10 yards they were giving us.

DC have film to prepare for him now... expect more of this.. and X to be blanketed.
George and Young both have nice numbers as well.. but I understand your point. I just disagree with the slander of other posters after one poor game this season.

But he was graded as the highest QBR in college football through the first 4 games.. one of which against a very competent A$M team, and a surprising Miami OH team.

But yes, he's been awful... smh.
Hello,

TVD stats are in lieu cramming the entire passing offense in favor of X for 3 years straight

If you are going to rewatch the game, might as well get back under the influence of whatever you were one.

RELAX. He will be fine.
Fine? Define "fine". He looked like he had been run over by a truck on Saturday .... dead eyes, no emotion, no spark, no LEADERSHIP. The polar opposite of a kid like Dorsey. TVD is a crap shoot every game. He better enjoy his college football days as football doesn't appear to be a long term career possibility.

Wasn't sucking off TVD... was optimistic about him being able to manage this offense behind the revamped OL and better OC.
I am skeptical now to be honest. He just doesn't look to be mentally atuned to be a leader .. he looks disinterested and glum most of the time... no passion one way or other. On tough days like this, we need a leader.

To me, TVD seems like a 1 read guy. Which usually is X. And if that option is covered then he’ll either force the ball or just get totally overwhelmed and make a poor decision or bad throw somewhere else. Seems like he doesn’t go through his progressions. That being said the game plan did look very simplistic for most of the game.

Even in our first 4 wins, I’ve noticed TVD going for deeper but more difficult options instead of taking the wide open guys for 10yds + potential YAC

Every game is different with this guy. One day he will look like a heisman contender and the next he will look like Kirby Freeman. You can't win BIG with QBs like that. Tell him to hit the road after the season is over if there is a viable candidate in the portal.

Maybe he has a problem throwing a wet ball? The last pick was just a terrible ball thrown to a guy who was actually lost on the play. I think his preseason finger injury has something to do with not being able to grip the wet ball very well.

He is a 4th year, Div 1 QB at a place where rain is a norm... not like he is QBing University of Arizona or Syracuse in the dome.

Yeah he shows it on his face when something's amiss. I saw 'the look' those first three drives and figured we were headed bad. He did have a couple balls dropped that would have helped immensely, and our run blocking wasn't very good 2nd half.

you are understanding correctly. it's how things are designed to work around here. it's actually in the business plan @DMoney wrote when he launched CIS.

It’s just funny to me that game 1 TVD looked very meh and we just dinked and dunked all night. Lots of time and prep before that game.

Next 3 games we’re driving the ball down field, TVD looks great, short weeks to prep, etc.

Get 1 week off and revert back to the short/intermediate BS and TVD looks incompetent. You can tell when there’s time to prepare.. a certain someone likes to get their hands in it. Just my 2 cents.

We’ll go back to slinging it all over the place against UNC and he’ll look great
