What to expect from FIU....

We've been stopping the run just fine.

Even with that, we're giving up 2.42 yards per rushing attempt.

Our team obviously has some weaknesses. I just don't see rush defense being one of them.

You know this long run only happened because #20 was in the game

We haven't played anyone with a pulse except for that team that pushed our schit in.

They can run for 200 yards, it won't matter. We will be able to easily score on that defense, especially late 3rd and 4th quarter when depth truly matters.

FIU best case 23 to 42 Canes

Reality is more like 52 to 13 Canes

The gambling horde should have laid the... - 26 1/2. Spread is now... - 27 1/2 and could move a point upwards by Saturday.

This is a complete lie. See picture below of current spreads at several different sportsbooks.

On defense, FIU has no meat in the trenches, and our OL should be able to easily establish a sound run game. But knowing butch, he'll throw some nuances out there, to confuse our knuckleheads up front. Even so, Coach Searles should lose his job, if we want to run and can't.

On Offense, FIU at time uses 2 TE, with a OL as FB in the backfield in short yardage situations... It'll be interesting to see if we'll get out of out standard 4-3 defense. Other than that, a lot of FIU's plays take time to develop, and our DL should cause alot havoc.

Our inability to run the ball down FIU's throats with some traditional packages, self inflicted mental errors, and wack playcalling is the only thing that will stop us... But we've seen all that at times LOL Hopefully our guys are quick learners

I pretty much agree on everything here. FIU does have 2 good DT's but behind them there is nothing.

What worries me with our run defense is the factor that we give up so many long runs at the most inopportune time, at least it seems that way. Our many tackles for loss boost our average per run (plus our sacks) but how often on third and forever do we give up a 25 yard running play. I simply hope our team takes this all more serious then those predicting a blowout....hopefully our team remembers Pitt, if not shame on them. I think they will prove me wrong, a nice fired up bunch of Canes fans at home will help since our players play with emotion and need our support.

If we lose this fcking game, if it's even fcking close I'm gonna be livid. I don't care who's coaching that team, the only way FIU makes the final score close is if we monumentally sht the bed. And that would be all on Richt.

Are you really taking this that seriously or are you just bored?

There's no situation in which FIU does anything at all to us that we don't help them with. Not "oh, we give up big plays on 3rd down," but "oh, let me escort you into the endzone on 3rd down, then fumble the kickoff and escort you into the endzone again. Hey that was fun, let's do it again."

We have better players. FIU has better coaches. FIU coaches will get more out of their players. We will win, but we will struggle.

Yeah, our little game with Pitt still ticks me off.

Pittsburgh and Florida International are night and day talent-wise. Pitt has a good defensive mind in Pat Narduzzi. Yes, they underachieved with a four-win season last year—but lest not forget the year prior they upset Clemson, at Clemson.

Narduzzi's defense stuffed the run and put the game on Rosier to win. Miami also played tight. Fact remains a 10-win regular season and shot at going undefeated in the regular year—it was uncharted waters. The Canes as a team were off from the get-go that day and didn't play with a sense of urgency or passion.

Central Florida smashed FIU, 61-17 to open last season and Florida Atlantic worked them, 52-24. The Golden Panthers lost three more games—Middle Tennessee State and Old Dominion in the regular season, before Temple smoked them, 28-3 in the bowl game.

Miami will more than have it's way with a garbage FIU team, as well as Butch Davis—a **** of a recruiter in his day, but a garbage game day head coach.

I'm not seeing a lot of enthusiasm with Richt's Game Day Coaching.

Given what he has to work with - compared to say - Butch - I'd say Butch is getting more out of his talent than RIcht is with his talent.

My bad.

That's just too obvious. Easily overlooked.

What to expect?

I expect us to win and people here will complain and say it does not matter because it is just measely FIU.
