Is it possible that game vs texas is still haunting us the way erickson basically told the refs to go f*ck themselves?

Always, ALWAYS treat big games as if you are playing the Irish in South Bend, and then remember what Jimmy said about that.

The refs have hated Miami for decades. Jimmy Johnson said: Do not leave the game in the hand of the officials, because ,everytime, they will go against Miami. Last night officiating gave Wisconsin the game. Despite our bad play, the officials were responsible for at least a 14 point advantage for Wisconsin.

I had hopes that hiring "The Pastor" would finally end all of the anti-Miami bias dating back to our bad boy days. Sadly it looks like its turned the world against the pastor instead. It will probably not go away until a new generation of referees comes up that didn't watch us ****ing in everyone's cheerios on our way to 5 national titles.

And while I don't buy any conspiracy theories, I 100% believe there is enough individual Miami hate (dislike?) among the announcers/sports media and referees to make it virtually impossible for us to reach the top again without being utterly dominant to the point that no amount of ****** officiating can slow us down. Anyone that doesn't believe its possible for refs to harbor bias have never been a referee or umpire at any level of any sport. You can't help hating some players/teams/parents/fans and liking others, and it effects what you see and don't see and how you call the game.

Theres no conspiracy, it’s racism. Perpetuated since Miami was an upstart champion in 83 and solidified by the establishment in 88 with “convicts”. It will never go away. You have 10 year olds on reddit spouting hate on Miami for no other reason that their prejudiced parents spout the same rhetoric they heard as children. Do you not think that there are millennial officials in the ranks now? Where do you think the rhetoric they eat uonis coming from? NCAA bull****.

This.

It didn't start in 83. After knocking off NE, Miami was the darlings of college football. An example that someone other than the traditional powers can win a national championship.

IMO, it began to change after Gerry Faust's last game with the whining hypocrite Ara Parsegian ( and his side kick Brent Musberger) complaining of JJ running up the score.

mid-80s, maybe.

The '91 Cotton Bowl was icing on the cake, but it started before that.

it started when mid-80s. we were stomping out blue blood programs with poor black kids from south florida. NCAA football is suppose to be hick towns tailgating with marching bands and crap. Not a big city team with uncle luke in the stands. im not a liberal at all but its all racism. seriously.

We need to hope the hate gets worse because it means we are winning again. Only losing in embarrassing fashion will stop the hate. You need to go back to the 80s and realize that we did not just beat teams bably, we destroyed programs for a decade or more and help destroy conferences. The big dogs were OU and NE. We took them apart and stole their place on the mountain. OU hated us for stealing the bad boy image from them and NE hate us for kicking the rears 3 time in NC games. Both hated us for ending the option offense that they lived on. The other reason is that we stole fans from everyone. Our appeal was and is unlimited by geography. Our gear would out sell local teams and even pro teams. And our fans all seem to be just like the team drawing our on hatred.

Mark needs to play a recording of Erickson on the sideline saying "f*ck you, will kick their asses anyway!" I remember our players being a little upset when they sensed that the media and other fans where cheering for us against Houston. They just didn't like someone else being disliked more than us.

That's essentially what I said in another thread and I got reamed by some here. They just are masochists and can"t stop hating our players and coaches.

It's not the hatred of the refs for UM - clearly - they had a lot of money on this game.

college football hates miami. come on, late year they robbed us in the fsu game and gave unc a td the kid never caught. this year its the same and it always will be. thats why we need to load up on talent and blow people out. if you dont, 2002 ohio state is what you get. Robbery. I been following this program too long to know it wont change.

I've always said that. I've always known it was subtle racism. I saw it with Georgetown basketball in the early '80's and even the all black FSU basketball team that went to the NCAA finals in '72. The media theme was that FSU could not be that disciplined because they were all black and no other major college BB team started five black players.

like i said. im not a liberal at all but its pure racism. my two friends who dont like miami said "miamis good again, here come the racists"
its resentment that we dont have to goofy marching band, tailgating tradition and stomped those teams out. we ruined programs.
ND, FSu couldnt beat us (media worshipped bowden), we beat Nebraska, we destroyed bosworth, etc.
