What should happen next

So Trob is gonna be an elite recruiter down the stretch as he inherits the mess of this team??? naw.... Then, you expect Trob to be interim HC, and get demoted once we get a new coach?? naw
No one will be elite as interim, but Trob can still salvage the recruiting class and make the best of the situation. I said high level because I think he can still recruit his position DBs at a high level with the likely hood that he will be retained.

And maybe this is new to you but head coaches get fired every season in CFB and interim coaches are often named and retained on the staff when the new HC is announced. Hence the term interim which the person taking that spot understands (See USC currently or Odell at FSU, or etc.) So the whole demotion logic is silly for someone like Trob.

T Rob is likely the only guy on staff that has been a DC before. I can't imagine he can be both interim HC and DC. Jess IMO should be interim and that way Rhett and T Rob can focus on each side.
This is where Bob Shoop comes into play, everyone here was just clamoring a few months ago how good of a DC his is and showed during his time at Miss St. Since he is more revered as a DC than Trob put him on the field and let the results speak for themselves. Trob has better cachet with recruits and kids than Jess, so if we strictly looking at what is best for UM short term Trob is the answer. This is all temporary until a HC is named that is not currently on campus

Below represents the best interim solution for the rest of the season until the problem can be fixed long term with our football program.

-Go ahead and fire Manny and Blake now, so that we can begin a thorough search for the next AD 1st and head coach by the bowl season. (At least fire Manny now even if they are considering reassigning Blake or just holding on to him until the for whatever silly reason). Manny has lost all support in the players, recruits, fan base, boosters, and alumni, so need to prolong the inevitable. The administration has to realize when you find yourself in a hole, you must stop digging and keeping Manny and Blake represent constant digging in a hole at this point.

- Name TROB interim head coach. Why because recruiting is the lifeline of any good programs outside of an exceptional coach who can scheme and is brilliant at X and O's. No one else on the staff has HC experience and to make the best of what we can with recruiting until the next HC is named TROB is the best recruiter on staff and is probably the most likely to be retained by the next head coach. This allows TROB to continue to recruit at a high level as the interim face/figure head of the program and show why he needs to remain on staff for the next HC. It also allows him to see if he can help turn around the culture problem with the remaining schedule, since he has a lot of previous SEC experience, relates well to players, and is from South Florida.

- Bring Shoop on field and name him as DC. Of the coaches with DC experience (Shoop and TROB), Shoop is probably the most proven and has coordinated better defensive units in the past. Shoop can coach safeties and DVD can coach corners with TROB assisting both when needed from his interim HC positoin. This will also answer some questions for us and the next staff: like was Manny's scheme a serious problem assuming some of Shoop's philosophies are different ex. more press bump and run etc, who are the players that are currently on the team that can excel in the scheme, are we running the right scheme, it allows the next head coach to evaluate the coaches we currently have on the defensive staff to see if they can improve our defensive deficiencies with their won fixes. (it gives a glimpse for say someone like Mario for example to see if the 4-2-5 can excel with what we have versus brining the 3-4 with him from Oregon or playing a 3-3-5). If Shoop and TROB can show they can fix the defense, then consider them for CO-DC positions if it makes sense, if it doesn't then move on.

- For the offensive side of the ball Lashlee has the rest of the season to prove Manny was hindering him from being an effective OC. (which I personally believe was not the case and that the offense has been all Lashlee). If can not improve on the slow offensive starts, lack of diversity in the run game, lack of rhythm with playcalling, and low percentage of scoring TDs in the redzone then his resume is what it is. The new HC can decide who to keep or not keep from the offensive staff outside of Lashlee.

In my opinion this is how we should move forward and get some ground truth answers on what some of our problems were under Manny and arm the next HC and AD with these answers as well.
You can’t bring in Shoop into a field coaching position is my understanding.

I know simpson has that Assistant HC title but I could see Rob Likens actually taking on the Interim HC position. Simpson and TRob could handle the defensive playcalling. Lashlee retains his OC title.
This is not a bad alternative. The assistant HC title should no automatically default Simpson as the interim HC if we looking to make the best of the situation if and when Manny is fired. UM should put themselves in the best position to stop the bleeding until a new HC is named. I still like Trob and brining Shoop on the field as DC or however this needs to be done for him to call plays and orchestrate the defense. Most will say he is a more proven and better DC than Trob.

The problem with giving people "interim" positions and then not hiring them for the job later is they tend to leave.
This is definitely true when the interim has former HC experience or they are grey heads (position coach or coordinator) who think they are due, or have been a good or hot coordinator for a while and think they are up next for a HC job. None of these are Trob in my opinion. I think he would accept the role as interim and be fine with going back to a position coach or co-coordinator when the new guy arrives. Just my opinion.

It's only a matter of time before Manny is fired by UM. It could happen as soon as Monday. If UM is going to make a change, they at least wait until Monday AFTER College GameDay. If they fire Manny before GameDay, that will just give Herbstreit and co. more ammo. UM officials don't want that. But even if they don't make the move Monday, Manny will force them by the way the team loses. There's no way Miami will beat UNC, NC State, at Pitt, or V-Tech. That's four more losses (2-7). I personally don't think UM can beat GT, but they COULD. Duke is another toss-up. FSU is a lock to win. So, Manny will go 4-8 or 5-7. Manny is a goner. There's no hope for him.

So be patient. Continue to ***** about Manny but support the guys that play hard.

Unless u fire Blake nothing matter
If he stays I can see him making Simpson hc and saying that he has extensive hc experience as well as nfl experience and nut in his pants

I think the key play is to fire Blake now. Firing Manny can wait till the end of the season, unless he has another UNC sized blow out. He knows he will be on his way out as well, but if you have to pay him anyway, why not have him do some work?

Blake did a fine job of getting donations and building up facilities, but there is more to being an AD than just that. He has been derelict in his coaching hires. The facilities have greatly improved since he was hired on as AD, but there has not been improvement on the playing field itself because of his lackluster hiring.

The most important factor is getting an AD in here who has experience hiring coaches and has been successful at it. By the way, not just at football, but basketball and baseball as well. Take a week or 2 to research and find the right person and get them here. Their first assignment is to find the right man for the football head coaching job and be ready to hire by the last week of November or first week of December to try to get in some recruiting before signing day.

Manny isn’t hindering Lashlee! Non blocking Olinemen are hindering our power running game and pass pro is a joke ! The weakest link on our team is offensive line and it’s not close

Dont out TRob as IHC cause usually when someone takes over as IHC they are never retained (unless I'm nuts) retain TRob.

Fire Blake and Diaz now to show people the job is on the table. Get Freeze and shut **** down or bring in Mario. I just don't trust they will hire a good AD it will be a typical UM hire at AD a yes man and he will fuq up the hire.

Why would you make T-Rob HC? Even if he's an ace recruiter, his ability will be diminished when he can't even tell kids he'll be here next season.
Another thing to consider, this teams goes 5-2, he gets a couple of 5* and we will end up stuck with him as HC. Fvck no
If he can get this team to go 5-2 with two 5* recruits maybe he should be. That would be a ridiculously awesome job at coaching right there.
