What RULES were adopted CFB 2026?

SIAP couldn’t find a thread on this & not sure where things wound up eith the rules committee on numerous issues:

Q: Was the horrible targeting penalty that required the player to be removed and miss the first half of next game scrapped?

Q: 5 yrs to play total after age 19 or whatever it is—- does this include a restriction to one portal attempt per player during their eligibility?

I’m sure there are many I’m leaving out/- thanks!
 
From what I see, the new targeting rule would only remove the player from that game for the first offense.

The second offense would include the first half of the next game, 3rd offense would include the entire next game

2nd and 3rd fouls can be appealed.

Thanks- though not sure I follow what a “fair catch kick” is and what opportunity it presents?

Oj Frederique won’t be able to wear his “game shorts” with no knees…
And no one wears covering from ankles up except those who wear those raving tights under their football pants- that one’s a bit silly

After a fair catch, a kicker can take a “free kick” which is either a place kick or drop kick where the defense has to stay 10 yards back from the line of scrimmage.

I’ve seen in in the NFL a couple times over the last 15 or so years.
 
Starting this season, conference bowl tie-ins for the CFP quarterfinals are gone.
Seeds 1–4 will still receive first-round byes. But #1 gets first choice of the 4 quarterfinal sites (Fiesta, Peach, Rose, Cotton)
#1 also picks which semifinal bowl they'd advance to if they win.
#2 chooses next from the three remaining quarterfinal bowls.
#3 chooses from the two remaining bowls.
#4 gets whichever bowls left.

Btw, the Orange bowl is a semi-final site this CFP.

EDIT, was wrong, ignore the below.

That happened last year that’s why we played Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl not the orange bowl they got to pick

stand corrected- i head read awhile ago that they were asked on it (indiana had to go to rose bowl because of tie ins) and would rather have dallas despite risk of a&m at the time vs miami actual home field, but saw that the fool in charge of the committee noted it was assigned.
