“On this date Nov 12, 2017. Following a dominant 41-8 win over Notre Dame to remain undefeated, the Miami Hurricanes ascended to their highest poll position since 2003”- HS

If you were to ask me what the most reposeful, serene and anxiety free morning of the many years of my fandom or at least in the last 10 years, aside from the morning after Al Golden’s firing. I would point to that morning fresh after we kicked ND *** and were ranked #2 in the Nation. The winning streak extended to 9, Twitter was blazing, both FSU & Gator fans were silent, recruits were committing, Paul finebaum looked like an *** and the Rock and several other Alums were ecstatic and pumped. Seemed as if we were headed in the right direction. The painful thing about all of this, is that we were really one component OC away from success with Richt and his tenure . Seeing Manny week after week out-coached, by more experienced coaches makes me wonder the heights CMR and this program could’ve sailed if he decided to stop the nepotism and hire a real OC, O-line and QB coach. It’s Painful knowing that Manny is probably not the guy, at least not for this program at this exact moment, and save your “Dabo was 4-3 and Saban was 7-6 as first year coaches responses.” This quick hire shouldn’t have ever happened, and the fans should not have to endure another 4 years of rebuilding. We don’t owe them that loyalty, MFcker we went through our 4 years of rebuilding with Shannon after Cokers tenure and then 5 with Golden after Shannon’s tenure and then again with Richt after Golden tenure, that’s 12 years of “rebuilding”. I don’t blame Manny, he talked a good game but this is completely on the BOT and was simply irresponsible of Blake James to pull the trigger on hiring a coach who was a few hours away from coaching at Franklin Field. Smfh But buckle up boys Manny is not going to get fired year 1. The most we can hope for is that he cleans house after this season, which he probably wont do since he vouched for most of this guys.

And the transition of defense from 2017 to 2018 was smooth af. We did not miss a beat, despite losing RJ and Ken, we lucked out with GW, and now this defense feels like a shell of its former self

He had Mark Helfrich in his office and didnt even need to fire anyone because the NCAA was granting everyone 1 additional coach. Richt hired Patke instead. This is what we are dealing with.
Richt certainly had his faults, but if we’re being completely honest, I felt more confidence heading into games knowing Richt will call the same 4 plays than I do with Manny... I can’t explain it

Richt was better for our recruiting & he was a big CF name for our program, but keep in mind he promoted Banda & Patke to DC before he retired. He was not engaged, and he did not put Miami or winning ahead of his personal situation.

Patke has compromising photos of Diaz and Richt. Only possible explanation that he still has a job.

I mean, Diaz is a terrible coach and put together the worst staff possible on a bubble gum budget.
Richt gave up a long time ago, but his terrible staff members are nightmare-ish lore to Georgia fans. Ask those fvcks what they think of Mike Bobo. This was a man that kept his son on staff for no real reason.

Maybe we just hire bums because we are trash and have no other choices.

idk, but compromising photos is v low on the list of why these guys have been here.

Can’t believe I’m defending CMR post retirement but if he made major changes after 2017 like abandoning his play calling duties and getting rid of his son as QB coach. Replacing Stacy Searles, getting rid of Gus too. Dropping 1 of Banda or Rumph, and Demoting Hartly to TE coach only and finding a real special team coach. Can’t imagine this team would not be in an infinitely better situation than it is in now.

The sad thing is for how many years the university has preferred losing rather than bringing butch back. Now we have to watch Mario succeed at Oregon knowing we could have had him instead of manny

At this point I’m considering anyone who is a strong recruiter or has a strong support staff who can recruit. Mario would’ve killed it down here, but his situation in Oregon is to good. I never thought of the day that I would strongly consider Urban Meyer. However I’m threading awfully close in desperation.

The Miami Shell game , its never one thing
Understandable. And CMR had numerous defects that he brought to himself. But if he could’ve found an OC that can muster 28 ppg alongside that Manny Diaz led Defense in 2018 then we’d be talking a whole different team. Even if Diaz left after 2018.
