What record gets Golden out of here?

In my belief he won't be here next year whether He gets canned or leaves on his own accord. A lot of schools will be looking for coaches next season particularly in the Big 10 in Indiana and Illinois.

Heck no Temple would want him back. They are 4-2 and have a legit shot at a bowl victory this year. Oh have the mighty have fallen.
 
I think the only thing that gets him fired this year is under .500 with some poor showings to close out the year. Otherwise, he is back next year.....right, wrong or indifferent.

Mark it down, lose to VT, FSU and UVA, also one of PITT and UNC. Epic collapse over the final half of the season but claim the team is still trending up. Touts the new training table as a big win
 
If you root against the Canes I for one would rather lose you any day then Golden and that goes for the idiots that fly the banners. As suspect as the staff is the worst thing that needs fixing in the Cane nation is the fans. I am part of the old breed that pulls for the team, goes to games and sends a check once in a while. The rest of my life is where I live and have some control. I don't control the hiring and firing of coaches. College football is a business. If it makes sense to make a coaching change all things considered the talented people and the talented people overseeing those people will make the right decisions. Banners will not be a factor and are just foolish. My guess is that the feeling is that the best interest of the university would be served by giving this good and decent man who can recruit and is a good face for the program every chance of succeeding. Give them the time they need to move forward. Some of you sound like you feel that you are the only people who know something is wrong.

THIS! I think Shalala is too conscious of the school's image to keep Golden if his record is the same or worse than Randy's. Same for the BOT.
We will lose some recruits if they keep a white coach who is as bad or worse than an African American who. on top of everything else, is an alum.

Sorry senorita Golden, don't give us that old school crap. Big *** lie, ur one of those newbies who think losing and particupation medals are ok. It is business, and singular no one fan won't pay Golden's salary but collectively we sure as **** do. We are stake holders in UM's business. Those smart talented people have been in collecting the TV money they are entitled to, win or lose and is fine selling a bad product. They are just like the Dolphins. The play gets bad and the fans leave, not the other way around. Years and years of mediocrity takes root and a place where it's not a college town, the fan base gets disinterested and go find blonde bimbos with fake ***** to occupy their weekends. The few here getting mad and taking a stand, are the real fans, embarrassment and all......and that's the idea btw, the embarrassment. Like Golden has us getting called candy canes on TV. And not one media person asked him about that. Less and less peoole care. That should worry you mofos more than Golden getting sent packing back to Pedophila village.

I'm only going to go so far with this thread but you'll note that I' m only one bar less than you. Not exactly a newbie.I'm not going to insult you. You and I just disagree. on your other point I attended my first UM game in 1947 when the star was the punter Harry Gaul. I was there for the first Chick (Nick) the second and of course the third. So disagree fine but let's keep it there. Defend your point but don't make assumptions about a fan with a different point. Be better than that.
 
5-7.. maybe, very slightly maybe 6-6 .. if he matches shannon's season 4 record he's not going anywhere.. he'll get the 'the cloud' bump.. and he'll get the 'taking over for randy' bump too.

Have been hoping for us to lose every game since the nebraska game. And for the people who think it makes them better fans because they "cant root against the canes," if you believe that Golden is nothing more than a mediocre coach AT BEST, then it makes no sense for you to hope we keep winning. Support the players, etc etc ok i get what you're saying we all like the players. What's best for the players? Having their talent wasted and learn nothing about the game of football and not be developed by these coaches? Or going through one rough season, having a (hopefully) elite staff put together, and actually taking this program back to where it belongs while at the same time personally succeeding and hopefully making the nfl?

If you think Golden can turn it around and actually is a good coach, although I COMPLETELY disagree with you, it makes sense to hope we win out, play for the acc champ, win our bowl game, etc. If you think golden is a piece of sh** coach who does the least with the most, ruins his players chances at the nfl, will never ever win a championship, etc, then you should be hoping we lose every game from here on out.

And to clarify, hoping we lose isnt exactly cheering every time we fail. It's not like im watching the game celebrating us sucking as if devin hester just housed the opening kickoff. It's just knowing it's what's best for the program, hoping this is all over as quickly as possible, while at the same time hoping our young guys improve and progress.

Unfortunately it sucks to read that we could even go 5-7 and keep golden. I mean thats just outrageous, but our mickey mouse administration wouldnt really surprise me.
