Time. Once again a failed coach has cost this program precious time to get back to being an annual competitive contender. Back to square 1.5 we go.

nah, the logic behind it is that you should hire a 70 year old who is past his prime.

he does work for two or three years and then the search starts all over again. we need quality, but we also need continuity

I don't want them all buddy buddy with the coach. I don't want them to be able to relate to a man who is vastly more mature and experienced than them. I want them to RESPECT him. I want them to FEAR him. I want them to LEARN from him. So please, for the love of God, let's forget everything we've been fed about "relating to kids". F that.

Also an opportunity to run the state as well. UF is good but not great and Mullens isn't a strong recruiter. FSU is a complete dumpster fire. And we line up playing the sloppiest football in school history looking like we don't even practice. Huge opportunity wasted.

Well who else worth a dam wants the job? Nobody. We'd have somebody who can negate the buying of recruits with more than proven ability to turn 3* kids into superstars. He's the only guy both able AND willing.

My question is - WTF are you talking about from two inferior levels?

Argument #1 - Nick Saban is the exact same age - and I really don't see any tapering off of him using everything HE knows! That's about the dumbest excuse I think I've ever heard! All football evidence to the contrary!

Argument #2 - Who you gonna get that UM will pay for? You throw out $8,000,000 to 10,000,000 like they're going to do that! You going to pay for it? Never happen!

Now - come back to Earth! Who provides the most bang for the buck - KNOWS UM - KNOWS how to evaluate talent - KNOWS how to develop talent - KNOWS how to build a championship team from scratch - and KNOWS how to RECRUIT!

With someone like Butch - we can actually afford to pay some top notch coordinators!

And Butch will have a fire in his gut to make a showing - and never doubt he'll fire a coordinator not getting it done.

#1 STFU with the Butch bull****. Its over and the fact you bring it up every time is just pathetic.

#2 I suggested in another thread that all UM has to do is raise the average season ticket price by $150 ($25 more per game) x 40k season tickets = $6M of additional money for a coach. As a season ticket holder of 4 club level seats I would gladly pay another $600 a year if I knew the money was going to secure a home run coaching hire. That doesn't even include just going to 5 boosters and asking for $750k each commitment.

If you want me to STFU - Come. Give it a whirl. Depending on Company or Battalion numbers - either 42 others or 44 others tried - and as confirmed - failed. With an overbearing mouth like that - you wouldn't make a good pimple on any one of their asses.

Look - you clearly don't have a grasp of reality on this - you want everyone to pay higher ticket prices? You have any idea how much revenue the football program already provides?

Instead of getting five boosters to kick in $750K - why don't YOU kick in $750K and find four others? Jenius. (you don't qualify for a G)
