sanctions in the 90s, but he built the best college team EVER and another NC (should have been at least 3)

any other program or if Miami would have had any other coach ..... Butch performed a miracle ! THATS A FACT !

Randy was totally Shalala's last minute hair brain intervention... she felt that hiring a black coach would bring accolades to her and the U.... typical Shalala reasoning. Even JJ was fooled by that overnight move. He had initially supported Gary Patterson to the AD and had mentioned to the media the evening before that it was going to be great hire.

Yeah, we def had a close scenario in 2015, which was Clemson, UVA, and GT ran for 857 in 3 consecutive home games on a 152 carries. (5.63 ypc)

Even then, we went 2-1, all were against P5 teams, and one of those teams was far superior than us (Clemson). I’ll do some more digging. It’s just mind boggling that someone who’s supposed to be a defensive guru has been gutted by 900 yrds by UNC, App St, and MSU. That sounds weird af.

WTF are you posting about on two levels?

#1 Butch isn't coming and would be another bad hire. Too old, too much baggage, no ability to attract a real staff other than more retreads, ill will from the school, and on and on.

#2 Offer 8-10M a year to NFL guys like Payton, John Harbaugh, Mike Zimmer. Some of these guys may be interested in coming to SFL and having a boat behind their house and not working 24/7/365 until they die. Maybe they want a new challenge. Maybe Payton says WTF am I doing with Jameis Winston as my QB for the next few years!

Including the buyout paid to temple to get Manny back to UM for the 17 days he was gone, …. in the past three years, UM has spent over $16.1 Million on Manny Diaz.

Against Power 5 teams, he has 11 wins in he 2 1/4 seasons he has been head coach
That works out to $1.46 Million for each of the 11 wins.

To compare, over the same time period, Nick Saban has been paid $851,000 per win over power 5 teams.

Who says UM is cheap? They clearly are outspending Alabama.
