What is your expectations for the Alabama Game?

Manny needs to keep his mouth shut before they leave the locker room. We always come out looking and playing stoned. Game after game!

Get anyone else - Reed! Let Reed give the final words before they rush out of the locker room! Wasn't it Reed that spoke before Notre Dame game?

Or JJ. JJ had his teams so fired up and yet relaxed - they'd chew the rope off had they been restrained. "LET'S GO OUT THERE AND PLAY LIKE A BUNCH OF WILD MEN!"

Under JJ - they'd be loose and relaxed - which enabled them to just play ball. It was fun!

We've been coming out wound so tight - we can't do ****. Game Day should be FUN DAY!

“Always”

TBH, I think we can match up with them. Fielding a first year QB will be big for us. Young is a heck of an athlete, but I suspect bama coaches will be more conservative with him. His read zone stuff will need to be bottled up. I think our huge improvements in OL/WR/DT/CB and one additional year with Lash/King will make our offense much more dynamic.

The key, for me, is the coaching. I'm not yet convinced we can outcoach anyone and right now, I see bama having a huge advantage in this. And I'm not just referring to Xs and Os/scheming, I'm referring to motivating your team, keeping them focused, etc, something Manny has not shown he can do yet.
They’re also deploying a new offensive system. Bill O’Brien is now there

Am I the only one who is actually MORE concerned about the following 3 games?

Imagine beating Bama and then coming in ****y and getting absolutely ****ed by Central Connecticut State....

That would be impossible. But if we mess around app state and sparty can cause problems

All I remember is North Carolina game, and I am sure Bama is going to test us on the ground: Another area of concern, under Manny's tenure we have shown a talent, of making inexperience QB's looked like Joe Montana.
On offense we can't have big plays negated by dropping passes, and laying the football on the ground. Also we got a freshman kicker starting his first game.

I am just hoping this isn't a repeat of the FSU / Alabama opener, when FSU came in with a lot of hype, and basically got rollover, and lost their QB.

I just worry about this team having the ability to physically hang with Bama.
They are huge. But this is probably the best shot we're gonna get with their youth vs our senority. McCloud looks like a grown a$$ man!

I expect the game to be closer than everyone expects. Don't see them covering that 18 number with such a young offense and a new coordinator. I also don't think their defense is what it used to be. Saban struggles against spread offenses which is why their defensive numbers aren't what they were say 5 years ago with every team in the SEC running some sort of spread offense. Question will be for us are our WRs improved enough to actually make plays and not just fold the way they did against Clemson.

For the people expecting to lose, I scratch my head. If the mindset is expect to lose you WILL lose.
For the fans expecting to win it is the ingredient to pulling off the upset. You have to expect to win to have a chance.
Alabama and teams like them have been upset before and they can be beat when we play them in the opener. It starts with expecting to win.
You are a clown.

fan expectations versus player/coach expectations are drastically different

by your logic all FSU fans should expect to win the natty this year

This is impossible. I’ve been assured we’re gonna be lucky to score against a Chicago Bearesque defense :

We'll struggle to score because they return 8 starters, it's week 1, and it's essentially a road game inside a loud dome. It's way more important that Miami's defense shows up imo.

Yet we return a ton of starters on offense,,including a sixth year senior at QB we’ll struggle.

I remember watching bama get stomped out by Clemson 44-16 in front of everyone.
I know we’re not the 2018 tigers, but we don’t need to beat them by 28 points either.
Get out in front before they know what hit em. Have sabags so embarrassed about being down to Miami on national t.v that he starts chewing out bill O’Brien on the sidelines and grabbing Bryce young by the face mask before half time. Once he slams that clip board onto the field and goes after the refs we will all know he’s become unhinged and it’s on.

Any Given Saturday
Canes 44 Bama 37
We Roll🙌

In years past sure, you could count on our guys losing focus. But not this team. If we beat Bama I have full confidence we ride that wave the rest of the season with a possible, but unlikely, slip-up later in the season to a team like Pitt (Game 8) or Vag Tech (Game 11).

Ofc it’s always any given Saturday as we’ve seen season in and out across the sport, but the mentality the staff has fostered seems to have imbedded itself into the older players and has trickled down to the younger kids we’ve recruited who came in as dogs to begin with. The difference that King makes alone has made a huge impact.

Sure, I expect us to lose bc that’s what history tells us with this recent run of Bama teams, but I’ll be damned if we don’t give it our all for that entire game. Shock the fvckin world should be the mindset for every one of our players 🙌🏼
