What is wrong with this fanbase, GREAT HIRE!

Richt laid back and calm - Diaz full of fire
Richt doing it the same ole way - Diaz innovative
Richt showed little emotion - Diaz intense
Richt hired inept coaches and nepotism - Not sure if Diaz hired but Simpson was the best coach on Richts staff
Richt fired and hired - Diaz took the temple job and loved the U enough to accept the job as his passion is with U football.

I am certain this is the best available hire in regards to love for Hurricane football, continuity with recruiting, loved by his players and they performed for him regardless of the inept Richt offense, and highly respected on a staff that was inept at best except for Simpson. Anyone that thinks Diaz will not do everything he can to fix the offense is naive to his desire to WIN, WIN, WIN! Where are those who agreed with me that Diaz should be the HC in waiting until Richt left? This is perfect.

Once you accept that fact that there is no decision that will ever have 100% support it's easier to understand the mentality here.

There are those who support, those who oppose, and those who wait and see. The only guarantee is that one of those groups will be correct.
 
There are some things I like about bringing Manny on, but it is very premature to call it a "GREAT HIRE". It's a very high risk hire IMHO, with a relatively high chance of failure. That said, I do think that at this point fans should suck it up, and give him a couple of years support. Protesting this now will be ineffectual, and only continue to hurt the football program. If the worries about him are well founded, it will be obvious soon enough.

Miami had an opportunity to conduct a national search and hire a pretty darn good guy with experience. We opted for the DC from a failing staff. Wear, rinse, wash, repeat Randy Shannon-style. At least Randy played on and coordinated a national championship defense. I personally never complain, but this hire is pure incompetency and insanity. You have confidence that Banda can coordinate a defense? Who is hiring that guy if his name isn't Manny Diaz? Who in their right mind would make Patke a co-DC after we a career GA and now a 1-year position coach, who coached literally 3 guys? You think Manny is demoting Patke? Doubtful.

There is absolutely no reason that Diaz should have been the de facto coach in waiting. We will never know what could have been because as usual the way Miami fills vacancies is totally bizarre.

Diaz's defense is so innovative that it gets beat down by any offense with a pulse. Diaz is so against nepotism he hired his unqualified buddy to be on the staff and now to be DC.

Lol and whats your great reasoning behind that? lincoln Riley probably had no other HC offers.. Was never a HC just an OC from ECU before OU. Give the man a chance.. He revamped our D to an elite level in 3 years.

Diaz turned one of the worst units in the country into one of the best in 3 years. Everyone on here was saying how the richts were the problem which they were, but now there gone. It’s only up from here idk how some people on here can still be ****ed of when everything everyone wanted 3 weeks ago is coming true. This is the best possible scenario for the program and this fan base should be beyond thankful.
